For all you flea market lovers, aside from Twilight: Flea & Feast this August, there’s going to be another marketplace bazaar happening!

It’s Carouselland and they’re BACK!

Happening from 11 to 12 August 2018 at Marina Bay Sands Halls A and B, this year’s Carouselland promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Singapore’s Largest Indoor Marketplace Bazaar

This year’s event theme is “Trails & Treasures” and it will feature 400 curated booths by popular Carousellers!

Event-goers can expect to find both new and pre-loved items, handmade gifts, vintage fashion pieces, and even retro games and collectibles!

It’s the biggest thrift shopping convention ever.

Carouselland – Trails

Carouselland – Treasures

Of course, it’s not just shopping. There’s food too!

Expect to see the usuals such as Katoshka and The 6ixs Rosti and more! The people who brought you the edible helium balloon at this year’s Geylang Serai Bazaar, Rainbow Works, will also be there with their unicorn milkshakes.

Done shopping? How about attending a workshop and making your own crafts?

Carouseller @funwithartz will be conducting a workshop where you can make your very own Miniature Fishball Meepok figurine, and even turn it into an accessory you can wear!

How about turning a drink can into a functioning lamp? For the Instagram fanatics, Singapore’s Insta-famous twins, Yafiq and Yais, will be leading an interactive photo trail where you’ll learn how to shoot, edit, and compose.

15 Best Stalls To Visit At Twilight: Flea & Feast – Indoor Bazaar With All-S’porean Food, Clothes And Crafts

Did you hear? The highly anticipated Twilight: Flea and Feast is back again for it’s third edition! If you missed out on #TWILIGHT18 earlier on in February, don’t fret. From 3 – 5 August, make your way down to the Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre for a day of browsing through dozens of flea stalls, free movie screenings and of course, sinking your teeth in tasty eats!

This indoor bazaar houses over 100 stalls selling popular street food, clothes, accessories and handmade crafts. This time round, you guys are in for a real treat as you’ll find more than 50 F&B vendors – you probably won’t know where to start!

For the first time since its inception, all vendors showcased at the event will be local. Which is why this year’s edition of TWILIGHT will be themed “Proudly Local” so both vendors and visitors get to celebrate everything we love and remember about Singapore.

To help you out with your upcoming shopping and gastronomic adventure, we’ve listed out some of our favourite makan and shopping vendors that you HAVE to visit!

What To Makan

1. Saiko

Think of Saiko as the elevated version of your typical pasar malam takoyaki joint!

Serving up Japanese street food realness, Saiko serves takoyaki in sizeable portions with full bite-sized fillings. You can choose from 3 different fillings – octopus, chicken and braised mushrooms. You also have the option of mixing 2 different fillings in one serving.

Other selections include Classic, Dashi (takoyaki with dashi broth, bonito flakes and scallions) and Miso (takoyaki with miso butter and rice krispies). Top it all off with a perfectly cooked onsen egg for just an additional $2!

We promise you that the takoyaki from Saiko won’t disappoint!

2. Burgernomics

Burgernomics got everyone raving over them when they first opened at Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre. They aim to differentiate themselves by keeping their burgers honest and simple, but with a distinctive Asian twist.

This time round, you get to satisfy your burger cravings without having to travel all the way down to Pasir Ris!

We heard that their burgers are really popular at events so head down early to avoid the long queues.

3. Inariku

If you eat, sleep and breathe all things Japanese, then you’re going to love this one.

Trained at the Tokyo Sushi Academy to fortify her passion for Japanese cooking, you can expect her highly raved lobster inari which comes in small sets of 4, ramen, unagi bento and more!

We recommend getting her lobster inari which is a combination of lobster and squid salad which sits atop a bed of sushi rice. All these premium ingredients are nestled within some Inariage aka Aburaage (the sweet beancurd pouch) and finished off with some Japanese mayonnaise.

4. O’Braim

O’Braim entered the pasar malam circuit around 2016 selling goreng pisang (banana fritters) with a modern twist.

They sell banana fritters in different flavours, including chocolate and cheese with condensed milk, while using a goreng pisang recipe passed down from their grandmother.

You’ll always find long queues at their stall which also means “confirm plus chop good”.

5. Ikan1986

A must have at every BBQ, their freshly grilled otah is one of the best we’ve had at any pop-up events!

Based on a traditional family recipe dating back to 1986, their staple menu item has fed scores of people ever since.

Made with fresh mackerel and a select number of equally fresh herbs and spices, their freshly grilled otah remains a delightful way to please the palate and tummy; either as an afternoon snack or part of a meal.

6. Egg Stop

Opening early August 2018 at Paya Lebar Square, you’ll get to try their sandwiches first at Twilight Flea & Feast.

Although we don’t know much about them yet, their sandwiches look like the perfect mid-afternoon snack.

Just look at all that filling spilling out of their sandwich. We don’t know about you, but we’re definitely excited to try this one out!

7. Katoshka

Katoshka needs no introduction from us. They’re seen at almost every bazaar/pop-up events that they’re pretty much a household name by now.

They go by a very simple concept: good ol’ fries served in cups laden in different sauces, from special cheese, sour ranch, chilli beef and sambal cheese.

If you love their fries as much as we do, then go get yourself a cup (or two) at Twilight!

8. Naughty Boyz

Known for their spicy mac and cheese, this is the perfect meal for sharing.

Their mac and cheese is bound to be a gooey delight. I mean, who doesn’t like cheese?

9. BOO:EH

BOO:EH serves up inspired butterbeer like the ones you see in Harry Potter World. This homemade brew consists of 2 parts – soothing liquid gold and dreamy butterscotch foam.

The flavour is so rejuvenating and unique that it transports you to a magical world at the first sip.

10. The Rattan Baby

If you’re tired of the overhyped and overpriced food at Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar, we get you.

Here’s a list of alternative bazaars that you should go to do all your last minute Hari Raya shopping. From kuih and dendeng to capal and baju kurung, these bazaars got you covered.

1. Jalan Jalan Makan Makan Raya Edition 2018 (Marina Bay Sands)

The Jalan-Jalan Makan-Makan Raya Edition 2018 is coming to Marina Bay Sands from 1 – 3 June. It is the first MEGA halal food and shopping bazaar at MBS that you definitely don’t want to miss out on.

You’ll get to meet your favourite celebrities, shop for your Hari Raya outfits and break your fast, all in one place!

If you’re looking for the perfect baju kurung, homegrown Muslimah fashion designer Adlina Anis, will have a pop-up booth at the bazaar. Get your wallets ready, because her Hari Raya collection is to die for.

If you’re planning on breaking fast at the bazaar, head on to Farah Diana Catering’s booth for their famous Nasi Ambeng ($7). This meal is packed with sides such as beef rendang and sambal goreng – you’re definitely going to need a power nap after eating this.

Their booth will be located right next to the stage so you definitely won’t miss it! Best part, there’s plenty of seating space as well so you can break fast at the bazaar itself.

With over 200 stalls at the Jalan-Jalan Makan-Makan bazaar, you won’t need to look elsewhere for all your Hari Raya needs.

2. Bazaar Raya One World (Our Tampines Hub)

The Bazaar Raya One World at Our Tampines Hub has plenty of traditional bazaar staples including putu bambu, ayam perchik, and satay burger. So if you’re looking for real food, then this is the place to indulge.

Keep cool with a cup of original Butter Booeh from BOO:EH and bask in the atmosphere of festivities at the bazaar! Their slushie is a new crowd’s favourite as well.

Out of the 150 stalls available at Bazaar Raya One World, we highly recommend getting the Satay Burger from Famous Satay Burger. If you need an upgrade from your usual ramly burgers, this is the perfect choice for you.

If you’re looking for real good food for the soul, then this bazaar won’t disappoint. No rainbow coloured food or edible balloons at this bazaar here!

3. KB Raya Fest (D’Marquee, Downtown East)

D’Marquee is the perfect location for a bazaar if you can’t stand the heat.

Get your wallets ready because you’re in for a real treat. KB Raya Fest is a one stop destination for all your Hari Raya needs. Not to mention, some of the food vendors sounds pretty damn good too!

Burgs by Project Warung will be selling their famous burgers at KB Raya Fest 2018. Unless you live under a rock, Burgs is known for selling gourmet burgers at an affordable price.

Trust me, you can’t miss out on this one.

4. LalooLalang Bazaar (Malay Heritage Centre)

Bring all your kakis for 3 days of food, fun and entertainment. For our non-Muslim geng, in the morning you go breakfast then in the evening you join for break fast ok!

This highly anticipated bazaar has been hugely successful since its debut in 2015.

Fashion, lifestyle, food and fun awaits you down at LalooLalang Bazaar. Be entertained by local acts and learn a thing or two about the Malay culture down at the Malay Heritage Centre galleries!

5. Bazaar Raya Utara (Woodlands Regional Centre)

The Bazaar Raya Utara is now in its 16th year, featuring a record of 80 stalls, selling everything from street food to homemade Hari Raya goodies.

A new air-conditioned section also houses apparel and fashion stalls, such as Muslimah fashion brand Ayu Apparels and online store Vintagewknd.

Thankfully, traditional food stalls still comprise the bulk of the bazaar’s offerings, with the longest lines dedicated to crowd favourites such as nasi Padang and Ramly Burgers!

6. The Grand Bazaar (Singapore Expo)

Let the Hari Raya celebrations begin!

The annual Geylang Serai Bazaar is back–and it’s a not your usual pasar malam.

Expect to see over 1000 stalls, and sample all sorts of traditional Hari Raya goodies as you go along.

We can already taste the Ramly burger, kuih tart, kuih bangkit, otah-otah and other delicious snacks.

Why it beats your neighbourhood pasar malam though, is its selection of super instagrammable foods. Think candyfloss burritos, poke bowls, fried durians, rainbow planet ice-cream buns, unicorn tears and more–not to mention the many, many Thai milk tea stalls.

2. 14th Singapore Open Gymnastic Championship

It’s spins, vaults, somersaults and tumbles galore!

That, and a whole lot more, is what you can expect at the riveting 14th Singapore Open Gymnastics Championships.

Whether you’re an artsy soul or someone just looking for a photo op, it’s hard not to get excited over this new exhibition.

Yayoi Kusama: Life is the Heart of a Rainbow is the most unique setup at the National Gallery right now!

One of the world’s most influential artists, Yayoi Kusama plays a crucial role in key art movements of the 20th and 21st centuries.

4. UFC Fight Night

UFC fans rejoice!

Watch the fighters on your TV screen come to life at UFC Fight Night Singapore!

With tunes like “Help Me” (Scarlet Avenue) and “High On Love” (Taufik Batisah), we’ll be singing along, while bearing the all-important anti-drug message in mind.

7. Gardens Turns 5

Let the birthday celebrations begin!

Our favourite futuristic garden, Gardens By The Bay, turns 5 this month, and it’s throwing a big birthday bash to mark the occasion.

Expect nothing short of a myriad of festivities that all can enjoy!

There will be a display of blooms in the rarest colour–shades of blue–at the Blue Beauties floral display in the Flower Dome!

Another highlight is the ‘Wonder Through Your Eyes’ photo exhibition, where your own fondest memories at the Gardens will be featured alongside other unforgettable moments.
