Apple fans, the wait is finally over. A date has been set for the opening of Singapore’s first Apple retail outlet–27 May.
Apple Orchard Road
After delaying its opening twice on 31 October and 30 January, Apple announced on its website that its first outlet at Knightsbride Mall will open its doors at 10am on 27 May.
Apple will be celebrating the opening of its first Singapore outlet, ‘Apple Orchard Road‘, with a slew of specially curated programmes. On 27, 28 and 31 May, tech aficionados and tech noobs alike will be in for a treat when they pop by the store.
This is part of the recently launched ‘Today at Apple’ programme, a series of educational sessions at the store conducted by local photographers, film makers, musicians, illustrators, developers and entrepreneurs.
What’s In Store?
Singapore Idol 3 winner Sezairi Sezali will be kicking off the festivities by performing an acoustic set live. This talented local act will add a touch of soul as he sings a selection of his favourite songs.
With chart toppers like ‘Fire To The Floor’ and ‘Broken’, you can’t help but start tapping along with your feet.

Pick Up Some Tech Skills
It takes some serious skills to capture breathtaking images with just an iPhone.
Local photographer Aik Beng Chia (known in some circles as ABC), will be imparting some of his skills and techniques on how to capture beautiful street photography with nothing but an iPhone. Soon, you’ll be taking epic images that are sure to up your ‘Gram game.

Tech isn’t just for the grown ups. Apple Orchard Road will be holding a Kids Hour, a one-hour workshop of sorts that will see parents and kids shooting their very own movie.
With the help of basic camera techniques, an iPad Pro, iMovie and a whole lot of creativity, kids will get a chance to play actor, producer and director!

A picture is worth a thousand words. While just about anyone can take a picture using an iPhone, Apple wants to help you bring out the best in your photos. Drop in for a 90-minute session as Creatives at Apple share pro tips on getting the most out of your camera app.
