The Longest Lunar Eclipse Of The Century Is Almost 2 Hours – Witness It In S’pore On July 28

28 July 2018.

Mark your calendars because there’s going to be another LUNAR ECLIPSE happening!

And not just any typical lunar eclipse. Set to last 1 hour and 43 minutes, this will be the longest lunar eclipse of the century and will be visible from Asia, Australia, Africa and Europe.

Which also means, we’ll be able to see it from Singapore!

Once In A Blood Moon

If you’re planning to witness this lunar event, be prepared to stay up late.

The eclipse will begin at 1.14am on 28 July 2018, with the total eclipse set to happen from 3.30am to 5.13am.

The last lunar eclipse we had was back in 31 January 2018, which saw a lunar eclipse, blue moon, and Supermoon happen all at the same time.

The next lunar eclipse we’ll be seeing after the one in July, will be on 21 January 2019.

So clear your schedules and get your phones, cameras and telescopes out for this once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event.

Can you feel the love?

It is time. One of the biggest musicals in the world finally opens at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore from 27 June – 26 August 2018!

The Lion King Musical first debuted at Marina Bay Sands in 2011 and is finally back to entertain us with a stellar ensemble from around the globe.

With extravagant and timeless number such as “The Circle of Life” and “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”, this show will definitely be a night to remember for you and your loved ones.

King Of The Broadway Jungle

Disney’s well-loved film was transformed into a spectacular theatrical experience in November 1997 and has since won more that 70 global theatrical awards including the Tony Award for Best Musical.

Set against the majesty of the Serengeti Plains, The musical tells the epic story of Simba the lion and his journey from a wide-eyed cub to his destined role as King of the Pridelands.

When The Lion King first debuted at Marina Bay Sands in 2011, it became the longest running musical in Singapore’s theatrical entertainment history, playing to over 300,00 people during its eight-month season in Singapore.

The international tour celebrates the musical’s 20th anniversary on stage and is the title’s 25th global production.

Expect a wave of emotions because this musical is about to blow your mind. You can expect more that 200 puppets in the show, including rod, shadow and full-sized puppets.

Be blown away by the 5.5 meters giraffes in the “I Just Can’t Wait To be King” scene as well as the elephant –  the largest and longest animal in the show measuring 4 meters long and 3 meters wide.

The most unique part of this musical is, Rafiki The Baboon which is presented as a male character in the animated movie will be played by a strong female character – she’s a complete #girlboss.

If you grew up belting out the lyrics to “The Circle Of Life” or “Hakuna Matata”, then you can’t miss this exciting, yet moving theatrical classic that has ever come to Broadway.

Don’t Let Calum Scott Dance On His Own – Watch Him Live in Singapore This Oct

In 2015, the world was introduced to the talent of Britain’s Got Talent Finalist, Calum Scott when he auditioned with a stunning rendition of Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own”.

He then went on to release “Dancing On My Own” as his lead single for his debut album, Only Human, and took the world by storm.

Come 31 October 2018, Calum Scott will be performing at the Capitol Theatre in Singapore for ONE NIGHT ONLY as part of his Only Human Asia Tour!

Named after the title of his debut album, this will be the British singer songwriter’s first official concert in Singapore. He was here back in March for an exclusive fan session.

Fans can expect to hear tracks from the album such as the soulful and uplifting “You Are The Reason”, the aching piano ballad “Hotel Room”, and his hit single “Rhythm Inside”.

Attention: Charlie Puth To Hold First-Ever S’pore Concert On Nov 13

Attention: If you don’t listen to Charlie Puth, we can’t talk anymore.

But that’s not the point.

The point is, Charlie Puth is coming to Singapore on 13 November 2018 for a one night only performance.

While ticketing details have not been released at the moment, we do know that he will be performing at The Star Theatre this November!

Fans will be able to watch Charlie Puth perform hits from the Voicenotes album, such as “Attention” and “Done For Me”.

Who knows, he might even sing his other hit singles that we know and love.

Try 26 Hawker Dishes For $1 Each At This Carnival In Yishun Park Hawker Centre

For the longest time, Singaporeans have complained about the increasing prices of food and housing.

But for a day in the month of June, Yishun Park Hawker Centre is taking things back to the old days, when food was still cheap, and a crisp $10 note made you seem like a rich man.

What I’m saying is, on 23 June 2018, Yishun Park Hawker Centre will be having a $1 Carnival – Reunion @ YPHC to commemorate and celebrate both traditional and new hawker food.

Old And New Hawker Fare

For ONE DAY ONLY, 26 stallholders in Yishun Park Hawker Centre will be showcasing food from its traditional and young hawkers and you get to try the signature dishes from the participating stalls, for just ONE DOLLAR.

Happening from 11am to 5pm on 23 June 2018, you get to dig into signature hawker dishes such as thosai, prata with curry and prawn noodles. Look out for JJ’s Prawn Noodles, which are known for their rich and complex broth.

Other dishes to look out for include the handmade fishballs from Fishball Story and the smooth Chicken Porridge from Li Fang Congee.

While the traditional hawkers have stood the test of time and are exceptional at what they serve, the new hawkers (we call them hawkerpreneurs) hold their own too, serving up some pretty impressive dishes.

Once again, Ah Tan Wings leads the charge with his Har Cheong Gai (Prawn Paste Chicken).

Ah Lock Tofu serves up fluffy taupok skewers and Nasi Lemak Taliwang brings their addictive spicy Sino-Indo Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang to the table.

Haven’t seen anything you like yet? How about the Lala White Beehoon from XLX Modern Tze Char that boasts some intense umami flavours?

Seafood Pirates serves up a mean Prawn Omelette Rice and Midas Every Touch Is Gold spoils the market with a Midas Signature which includes baked prata, curry and roasted chicken.

Now that’s really making the most out of a dollar.

Flea Market

Of course, no carnival is complete without a flea market and carnival games!

There will also be a flea market for the adults, carnival games stations for the kids and the young at heart, a colouring contest, as well as an instant photobooth to capture the moment!

While the $1 Carnival runs from 11am to 5pm, the flea market will close later at 8pm.

Yishun Park Hawker Centre encourages diners to return their own tray after eating and every tray returned is a chance to win in the Tray Return Lucky Draw.

There will be a total of $1000 worth of store credits to be won in the Tray Return Lucky Draw.

For those of you living in Sembawang and Khatib, there will be complimentary shuttle bus services available to take you to Yishun Park Hawker Centre.

The Kevin Hart Irresponsible Tour Makes Its Final Stop In S’pore This Dec

One of Hollywood’s most prominent funny-man, Kevin Hart, will be bringing his “The Kevin Hart Irresponsible Tour” to Singapore!

He will be performing at the Suntec Convention Centre once again on 13 December 2018 for ONE NIGHT ONLY!

This will be the final stop of the world tour, and the ONLY stop in Southeast Asia. (No, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is not included.)

The comedian was last in Singapore back in 2016 for his “What Now” tour.

If you’re not familiar with this name (have you been living under a rock?), you might have seen him recently, acting alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in the 2017 reboot of ‘Jumanji’, as Zoologist Franklin ‘Mouse’ Finbar.
