Last month, Singaporeans went Nasi Lemak Burger-crazy when McDonald’s released the limited edition burger. In fact, Singaporeans loved it so much that McDonald’s sold out of these local-inspired burgers in less than 2 weeks!

Recently, KFC released a teaser image on its Facebook page – the silhouette of a burger.

The image was simply captioned “Are you down for a new version of an all-time favourite?”

Netizens quickly began speculating, and many of them guessed that this signified the return of the all meat, no bun Zinger Double Down Burger.

These Pretty Pink Drinks Are Bangkok’s Latest Tea Trend, Because Thai Milk Tea Is So 2015

Thai-everything has been a huge hit among Singaporeans in the past couple of years.

The Rose Milk Tea is the only milk tea of the lot, with a milky pink appearance and the light aroma of rose.

If refreshing is what you’re looking for, you’ll find it in the Lychee Rose Tea, which combines the fragrance of rose with the light sweetness of lychee.

Finally, there is the Honey Rose Tea, which is sweeter than the other two. As with the other drinks, the rose fragrance comes through strongly, making this the perfect cooling drink on a warm day in Singapore’s heat!

Not just a pretty drink, the rose in the tea comes packed with benefits according to Cha Tra Mue. Apparently, some of the benefits of rose include detoxification, laxative effects for those with constipation and weight loss.

This Fry-It-Yourself Hum Chim Peng Stall Is Your Grown-up Masak Masak Dream Come True

Recently, a certain hum chim peng (deep fried dough fritters) stall has caught the attention of netizens in Singapore.

Located at Maxwell Food Centre, what’s unique about this humble fried dough fritter stall is that you get to fry your own dough fritters.

Smaller in size than what you might find elsewhere, Hum Jin Pang’s dough fritters come in two varieties – Five Spice Salt and Sweet Red Bean. At six pieces for $1, these fritters are incredibly cheap; you’d be hard pressed to find prices likes these anywhere these days.

Creamier’s New Ice Cream BEER Floats Takes Alcoholic Ice Cream To A Whole New Level

We’ve all heard of ice cream floats, but have you heard of an ice cream beer float?

It’s exactly as it sounds – a scoop of ice cream plopped into a glass of cold beer.

A marriage of two things we all love – ice cream and booze – that’s exactly what Creamier and Stark Craft Beer are bringing to the table at this year’s Beerfest Asia.

A Perfect Union

Huge fans of the ice cream brand (as are we), the guys behind Stark Craft Beer conceived of this unusual pairing on a hot and humid night in North Bali.

Craving a taste of Creamier’s Tahitian Vanilla ice cream to go with some of their freshly-brewed Dark Wheat Beer, they decided to combine the two into one outrageous dessert, and bring it to the masses.

They reached out, Creamier said yes, and now, we get to enjoy 3 inventive floats!

A union of two artisanal, premium brands, both Creamier and Stark Craft Beer use all-natural ingredients, with no preservatives added into their innovative, delicious products.

Beer + Ice Cream Pairings

The first beer-ice cream combo is Stark Lychee Ale with Creamier’s Raspberry Love. The ale is fruity, light, with the natural aroma and sweetness of lychee, while the Raspberry Love ice cream is a romantic combination of raspberry berries, rose and sweet cream.

The final result? A taste of summer in a cup that’s light, floral and sweet.

The next float flavour on the menu is Stark Indonesian Pale Ale with Creamier’s Sea Salt Gula Melaka. The IPA has a distinct hoppy flavour, is slightly bitter, with a sweet and malty aftertaste. This is paired with Sea Salt Gula Melaka ice cream, which gives you a hit of sweet, but not without a hit of savoury flavour. The two combine into a smooth butter beer.

The last drink is one for the chocaholics – the Stark Dark Wheat with Creamier’s Mochaccino. The Dark Wheat beer is thick, malty and chocolatey, with a hint of bitter roasted coffee. The Mochaccino ice cream amps up the chocolate flavour with its blend of chocolate and espresso, giving you a dessert that’s chocolatey, smoky, slightly bitter, and absolutely decadent.

And on to the most important question: How do you enjoy your ice cream beer float? Either sip the beer and eat the ice cream separately, or stir all that goodness together – both ways, you get to enjoy a tasty, delightful dessert.

These ice cream floats will be available at both of Creamier’s outlets at Toa Payoh and at Gillman Barracks. They will also be available at BeerFest 2017 (17 – 20 August) at the Stark Craft Beer booth.

These Fiery Foods Are So Spicy, They Should Come With A Warning Sign

They say you’re not a true Singaporean unless you can take spicy food.

If you’re one of those people who take (sick) pleasure in taking on the spiciest foods the world has to offer, here’s a list of restaurants that serve flaming hot dishes sure to satisfy your sky-high spiciness tolerance.

1. Southwest Tavern

Passing by, Southwest Tavern might look like any other diner serving your usual burgers and steak. This is where you’ll find the Spaghetti from Hell Challenge, where you’ll have to finish a whole plate of spaghetti in 10 minutes.

Before you take up this challenge, you’ll have to sign an indemnity form – that should be an indicator of how spicy this unassuming plate of spaghetti is.

Another must-try here are the Suicide Wings ($22/6 pcs). Like its name, the well-marinated wings contain a mix of two fiery peppers. It’s so hot, it could literally burn your throat.

3. Face to Face Noodle House

The anchovies, minced pork and an onsen egg are tossed together with the homemade springy egg noodle, resulting in a crunchy and fragrant bowl of noodles. Also, the dried chilli adds a spicy and piquant mix of flavours to the whole dish.

One thing we love is that the chilli is served on the side, so you can choose to spam as much as you want for added shiokness!

4. Ikkousha Hakata Ramen

For those who love ramen and spice, you’re in for a treat!

Ikkousha Hakata Ramen serves God Fire Ramen ($13.50), where you can choose how spicy you want your ramen, from level 1 to 4.

When ordering, bear in mind that level 2 already poses quite a challenge to some. The texture of the noodles is springy while the ajitama egg makes a flavourful accompaniment to the overall dish. The flavours are perfectly balanced, with the spiciness not overpowering or taking away from the original flavour of the broth.

5. Ramen Champion

Another palace that offers quality ramen in a terrifyingly red-hot broth is Ramen Champion.

The Red Hell Ramen ($16.50) is definitely not for the faint of heart.

The thick broth is flavourful and a huge comfort during rainy weather. Compared to other ramen-specialty places, Ramen Champion is especially generous with their pork slices, which literally cover the noodles.
