But we digress. This December, Singapore’s biggest Christmas event, Christmas Wonderland, is back for its fourth iteration, this time with new highlights to get everyone immersed in the festive mood!
[caption id="attachment_31321" align="alignnone" width="1080"] Image Credit: @christmaswonderland[/caption]Occupying the 57,000 sqm are new attractions such as an outdoor skating rink, Ethiopian circus acts, Santa’s Grotto, and a food market lined with food from acclaimed restaurants.

Singapore Streets Are Re-Imagined As Cult Films In Kult’s ‘Sin City’ Tee And Tote Collection
The creative folks at Kult have a ‘Sin City‘ merchandise collection and double takes are necessary because you probably won’t see the little change in the iconic designs at first glance.
[caption id="attachment_31245" align="alignnone" width="960"] Image Credit: kult Facebook[/caption]Familiar yet different, we are loving these designs already. But wait, there’s more.
Foreign But Familiar
Here are some of our favourite picks from the ‘Sin City’ collection.
1. Mighty Morphin Punggol Rangers
[caption id="attachment_31251" align="aligncenter" width="1772"] Image Credit: kultstore.online[/caption]If Singapore had its own Power Rangers, it would make sense for them to reside in Punggol. Ample space to park the Megazords. IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!
2. Teenage Newton Ninja Turtles
[caption id="attachment_31252" align="aligncenter" width="1772"] Image Credit: kultstore.online[/caption]Is Newton the place where people are releasing their terrapins? Is that what’s happening now?
3. A Nightmare On Oxley Road
[caption id="attachment_31255" align="aligncenter" width="1772"] Image Credit: kultstore.online[/caption]Well… we all know the nightmare that went down with regards to Oxley Road this year. Ahem.
4. Big Trouble In Little India
[caption id="attachment_31257" align="aligncenter" width="808"] Image Credit: kultstore.online[/caption]Big Trouble In Little China, but different. To be fair, we had our own big trouble in Little India previously.
5. Serangoonies
[caption id="attachment_31258" align="aligncenter" width="808"] Image Credit: kultstore.online[/caption]No, this is not an allusion to garang gunis. This is a reference to The Goonies movie back in 1985.
6. The Desker Chainsaw Massacre
[caption id="attachment_31259" align="aligncenter" width="809"] Image Credit: kultstore.online[/caption]Desker Road is one of Singapore’s oldest red light district. Did Leatherface pass by?
7. Balestier Galactica
[caption id="attachment_31261" align="aligncenter" width="808"] Image Credit: kultstore.online[/caption]We missed the “Balestier” in this one the first time we saw it and it was a confusing 5 seconds trying to figure out the local place in the print.
8. The Good, The Bad And The Ubi
[caption id="attachment_31263" align="aligncenter" width="1772"] Image Credit: kultstore.online[/caption]We need to see Clint Eastwood carry this bag just for the lawls. Anyone know his agent’s number?
9. Straight Outta Commonwealth
[caption id="attachment_31264" align="aligncenter" width="1772"] Image Credit: kultstore.online[/caption]A local film starring Sheikh Haikel, Shigga Shay, and Tosh Zhang. We’re kidding.
10. The Wolf Of Waterloo Street
[caption id="attachment_31265" align="aligncenter" width="1772"] Image Credit: kultstore.online[/caption]Did you notice “Martini Scorsese”? Bet you didn’t.
11. Brokeback Mountbatten
[caption id="attachment_31267" align="aligncenter" width="1772"] Image Credit: kultstore.online[/caption]We were thinking “Brokeback Mount Faber” but Mountbatten works too.
12. The Phantom Of The Opera Estate
[caption id="attachment_31268" align="aligncenter" width="1772"] Image Credit: kultstore.online[/caption]This is our absolute favourite. Broadway classics are the best! Anyone who says otherwise is entitled to their wrong opinion.
All tees go for $38 each while tote bags are $28 each. You may purchase them here.
We absolutely love the collection. Our only gripe is that there are only selected designs that are printed on both tote bags and tees.

Expect queues to be long though the quality of the food more than makes up for it. Definitely a meal to ramen-ber. Ramen Nagi Singapore If you’re a fan of sweets, specifically Korean desserts, then you’ll want to try Cafe De Paris. With a few franchises in Canada, Hong Kong and China, the cafe is finally opening its doors in Singapore on 5 November. They will be serving up photogenic selections of elegant cakes, fresh fruit bonbons (pictured above), cold brew coffee, healthy pressed juices, and premium teas. The fresh fruit bonbons are only available for certain periods in a year as the cafe uses seasonal fruits specially imported from Korea. You get to choose from the chocolate brownie, mango, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, and grape bonbons. Each one is hand-crafted and loaded with your selected fruit, non-dairy whipped cream, and slushie. It takes a while to create each bonbon so expect to wait for a bit. We Did A Pennywise-Inspired Photo Shoot And IT Has Never Looked So Singaporean
Ever wondered what horror movie icons do when they’re not scaring, possessing or tormenting people?
We wondered about that too. So we did a Pennywise-inspired photo shoot.
Meet Penny. She’s Singaporean, 1300 years old (doesn’t she look young for her age?) and a Libra.
[caption id="attachment_30938" align="aligncenter" width="6366"] Isn’t she lovely? Isn’t she wonderful?[/caption]She’s Not Your Average Singaporean
[caption id="attachment_30939" align="aligncenter" width="6597"] Penny usually takes the MRT to work.[/caption]And we’ll take the escalator. Thanks.
[caption id="attachment_30940" align="aligncenter" width="6520"] Sometimes she takes the bus instead.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_30941" align="aligncenter" width="6519"] “We all rely on SBS here..”[/caption] [caption id="attachment_30942" align="aligncenter" width="6366"] “Guys, I found a Penny on the steps.”[/caption] [caption id="attachment_30943" align="aligncenter" width="6366"] Penny gets to work.[/caption]And we’ll go the other way.
[caption id="attachment_30944" align="aligncenter" width="6566"] Lunchtime with Penny.[/caption]Children are in short supply in Singapore due to aging population. So mixed rice it is.
[caption id="attachment_30946" align="aligncenter" width="6694"] A cool drink and an electric fan is a must for any office lady during lunch. Penny included.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_30947" align="aligncenter" width="5677"] “Taking the lift?”[/caption]Nope. Not today.
[caption id="attachment_30948" align="aligncenter" width="5410"] “Oh hello there. Did you need the toilet?”[/caption]We’re good. We have toilets at home.
[caption id="attachment_30953" align="aligncenter" width="480"] She’s coming for you.[/caption]Penny is going back to sleep now. She’ll be back. She’ll always be back.

This Singaporean’s LEGO Replicas Of Local Icons Will Give You A Serious Case Of Nostalgia
We’ve all played with LEGOs at some point in our lives. However, for this man, LEGO is a career and a way of life.
Meet Jeffrey Kong, a Singaporean brick artist and founder of Artisan Bricks. He makes replicas of local landmarks, food and items out of LEGO bricks and parts.
Each piece he makes catches every detail of the original.
[caption id="attachment_30880" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @artisanbricks[/caption]With multiple awards under his belt, Jeffrey has been creating with LEGOs for almost half a decade now and his works look so much like the original, you have to do a double take just to be sure.
Building Classics Brick By Brick
Jeffrey’s creations are small yet complex and most of them evoke a sense of nostalgia in most Singaporeans.
Here are some of our favourites.
[caption id="attachment_30881" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @artisanbricks[/caption]How many of these things can you identify? We love the replicas of the Toa Payoh Dragon Playground and the floppy disk.
[caption id="attachment_30882" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @artisanbricks[/caption] [caption id="attachment_30883" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @artisanbricks[/caption]For those of you who are confused as to what this is, it’s a replica of the classic Overhead Projector (OHP). This was before overhead projectors were really overhead and hung from classroom ceilings.
Most Singaporeans who were in school before the millennium would know that this was a staple in every classroom.
[caption id="attachment_30884" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @artisanbricks[/caption] [caption id="attachment_30885" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @artisanbricks[/caption]Machines and pencils made out bricks, we get it. But how he made a mooncake out of LEGO bricks is simply mind-blowing. The craftsmanship is so detailed and accurate. We are in awe.
[caption id="attachment_30886" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @artisanbricks[/caption]This is the most adorable replica of a neighbourhood we’ve ever seen. It’s honestly quite difficult to not gush about these creations.
[caption id="attachment_30887" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @artisanbricks[/caption]Now, isn’t this a familiar sight? The little pieces of “laundry” is what really completes this replica.
[caption id="attachment_30889" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @artisanbricks[/caption]Does this look familiar to you? Yes, it’s the red mailbox found in old homes in Katong!
[caption id="attachment_30890" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @artisanbricks[/caption] [caption id="attachment_30891" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @artisanbricks[/caption]This is, without a doubt, our favourite. The ability to capture the essence and details of The Fullerton Hotel, one of the most iconic buildings in Singapore’s cityscape, is truly a commendable feat. Mr Kong, you’re the real MVP.
[caption id="attachment_30894" align="aligncenter" width="250"] GIF Credit: giphy.com[/caption]Jeffrey does commissions as well; so if you’re looking to have something made out of LEGO bricks, he’s the perfect man for the job.
You can contact Jeffrey here and find more of his creations on Instagram, Facebook and on his website.

We Found Some Mad Local Talent On This Streaming App And You Better BeLive It
With the rise of social media, sharing bits of our personal lives has never been easier.
If you’re a millennial, you’re probably familiar with the wonders of live streaming apps such as Instagram Live, YouNow, and Periscope. Maybe you’re even a live streamer yourself!
While each is unique in its own way, our favourite for discovering local talent has to be BeLive.
BeLive is a local live streaming app, and some great undiscovered talents are on there, streaming their performances. Think of it as busking – but online.
Here are some of the talents you should keep your eye – and ear – out for on the app!
[caption id="attachment_30791" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] Image Credit: Image Credit: @yokezofficial[/caption]With 9.1K subscribers on YouTube, Yokez is an independent singer-songwriter and keyboardist with an incredibly impressive portfolio.
She mainly covers Chinese songs and sings a mean cover of “Let’s Not Be Friends In Future” by Eric Chou. Yokez is always chatty on stream and bursts into songs that are mentioned by the people watching her livestream.
Always funny, always entertaining.

2. Marcus Lee Jun Wei
[caption id="attachment_30794" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @leejunweimarcus[/caption]Marcus was the 2nd runner-up in Campus Superstar 2 and also the lead frontman of indie rock band “Exdee”. He is also the lead singer of the 3-piece acoustic group “Footprint” and also currently under the mentorship of local rapper Shigga Shay.
Being a versatile performer, Marcus covers a wide range of genres from pop, jazz and rock, to ballads and 90’s classics.
You can listen to him cover both English and Chinese songs on his streams. His cover of “Back At One” by Brian McKnight has us melting.

3. Veekher Wong
[caption id="attachment_30798" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @veekherwong[/caption]With 5.5K followers on BeLive, Veekher is not a stranger to livestreaming.
She enjoys performing English and Chinese songs on BeLive. We love her cover of Jay Chou’s “Love Confession” with Yokez. She’s also friends with Marcus Lee and he usually shows up in her streams.
Veekher usually streams at least once a week on BeLive as she enjoys how interactive the app is, compared to Facebook Live or Instagram.

4. Delvina See
[caption id="attachment_30807" align="aligncenter" width="853"] Image Credit: @sdelvinaa[/caption]Delvina performs at *SCAPE with her siblings as a group known as thez3n. Their vocal harmony really shines in their rendition of “A Little Happiness” by Hebe Tian.
She has also been streaming on BeLive since 1 September 2016 and streams regularly to just hang out and chat with her viewers or sing.
Singing and chilling, sounds like a friday night at your favourite bar.

5. Sophia Tay
[caption id="attachment_30810" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @sophtmusic[/caption]Sophia is an aspiring singer-songwriter who sings both English and Chinese songs and also busks along the stretches of Orchard and Somerset.
If you’re lucky, you might even catch her streaming live from some of her gigs!
We love that she does the mouth trumpet thing that Nathan Hartono does as well.

6. Brendon Chua
[caption id="attachment_30823" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @brendonclf[/caption]Did you know Brendon is the frontman of the local Alternative band, “The Façade“?
He also streams alone on BeLive, jamming and singing and it’s really vibey. He covers English songs, though he spends most of his time strumming on his guitar. We’re not complaining though, he’s a sight for sore eyes.
You can also check out his band’s YouTube covers here.

7. Chow Jia Hui
[caption id="attachment_30829" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Image Credit: @chowjiahui[/caption]Jia Hui started streaming on BeLive since 6 July and sings regularly on her streams. She enjoys singing and performing and BeLive provides a platform for her to interact with other users with the same interests.
Also, she does mean acoustic renditions of Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, and James Arthur.
So if you’re looking for a hilarious streamer with a wicked sense of humour and great music, don’t miss out on Jia Hui’s livestreams!

8. Tessa Lee
[caption id="attachment_30831" align="aligncenter" width="993"] Image Credit: @tessawoohoo[/caption]Tessa enjoys doing covers and regularly shares snippets of her covers on Instagram and Instastories but took to BeLive to be able to stream and perform live.
We are obsessed with her cover of “Rockabye” by Clean Bandit and “Location” by Khalid.
She streams quite regularly so don’t miss out on her acoustic renditions of hit songs!

With these talented musicians streaming and performing on BeLive, don’t say Singapore has no talent.
