After last year’s successful inaugural opening, Singapore Cocktail Week is back with a bang the second time around, and promises to be even bigger and better than it was before. This year, you can expect to visit any of the 61 participating bars and restaurants, in addition to tasting unique cocktail creations from over 20 international guest bartenders.

This eight-day stint spanning from the 12th to 19th of March aims to celebrate the local cocktail culture through a series of more than 200 events – from workshops to cocktail tours, cocktail brunches to supper clubs.

Workshops

Only during this week of specially planned events will you be able to take on a crash course of The Basic Techniques of Cocktail-Making by the world famous mixologist Laurent Greco. Through his exuberant sense of confidence, the Parisian-based barista will be hosting workshops that demonstrate his astounding flair for combining unique flavours that results in flavourful cocktails.

You could also attend a class on History of Japanese Cocktail Culture with legendary master bartender, Hidetsugu Ueno. With 24 years of experience under his belt, Ueno-San – as he is more popularly known as, has entertained the rich and famous with his diamond ice carvings back in his days at the famous Star Bar Ginza.

Catch him live in action this time around during his three hour workshop as he coaches participants on the different types of Japanese bar-tending styles.

If you’re not keen on workshops and classes, fret not. Savour the very best cocktails at any of the 61 bars. Watch as local and internationally renowned bartenders build, stir, shake, or muddle cocktail creations before you.

NOX, a restaurant renowned for dining in the dark, is also opening its doors to cocktails lovers. At just $50, you’d be given the opportunity to try, and also guess the names of four of NOX’s signature cocktails in a dark setting. The answers, and a brief history behind each cocktail will be revealed when the lights come on at the end.

If you’re interested in being part of something extraordinary, head down to Potato Head Folk and watch before your eyes as they transform their cocktail lounge into the first ever Elyx House.

For just $14+++, have a go at their featured cocktails concocted with Asian favourites like pandan syrup, pineapple juice and lemongrass. These cocktails will be served in the brand’s freshly launched distinct copper pineapple cups and punch bowls. Definitely make for a good Instagram picture, that’s for sure!
