Proposals. They’re nerve wrecking enough without having to worry about the where, when and how. And with SO MANY proposals that are so amazing and out of this world (spoil market!) , we’re not going to blame you if you’re clueless on where to propose! We asked a few Singaporean ladies where’s a great place to be proposed to, and they gave us a simple yet oddly complicated answer:

“What kind of girl is she?”

Simple enough right? Find out what she enjoys doing and you’ve pretty settled on where you’re going to propose! If you’ve still haven’t found THE perfect place to propose. Don’t worry! We complied a list of the most romantic places in Singapore to propose!

If She Likes Nature..

Henderson Wave

Henderson Wave used to be THE SPOT to go dating and hang out with friends way back in the mid 2000s. To get up to Henderson Wave used to be quite an adventure, you had to take public transport before taking quite a hike up to the structure.

At 36 meters above the ground, Henderson Waves bridge is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore.  If your girlfriend is a fan of nature, bring her on the Southern Ridges Walk, a 5 kilometer hiking trail that takes you through Telok Blagah Hill Park and Mounth Faber.

Pack a picnic and sit down at the Henderson Waves right about sunset. You’ll be able to admire the setting sun against the backdrop of distant residential blocks, the perfect background for a romantic proposal.

Little Guilin

Also known as Bukit Batok Park, Little Guilin got its name due to its similarity to that of Guilin in China. What attracts locals all over Singapore to come here is the granite rock sitting within the lake (an anomaly in any other parks in Singapore). There are two shelters  right across from the lake giving you a breathtaking view of the tranquil lake.

Bring your girlfriend here right after an early dinner, the fantastic view combined with the setting sun is the perfect backdrop for a proposal she won’t be able to refuse!

If You’re Planning To Propose After Dinner…

Dinner and proposals go hand in hand, how can she say ‘Yes!’ on an empty stomach? If you’re keen on proposing right after dinner (or even during dinner), head over to these places.  You can grab dinner at the restaurants nearby and pop the question against the amazing backdrop!

Faber Peak

A stone’s throw from Henderson Wave, Faber Peak is the highest point on Mount Faber. 100 meters above sea level, expect amazing views of the Singapore. What’s great about Faber Peak is you can walk around the area, take pictures on the Happy Steps and even ring the Bell of Happiness before settling down for dinner at Faber Bistro!

Esplanade Rooftop

Another old favourite amongst teens back in the mid 2000s. Offering views of Marina Bay and the city skyline, this outdoor space is a quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle downstairs. The roof terrace is landscaped with manicured lawns, benches and small shrubs and trees, so it’s a change of landscape from the modern architecture of CBD Singapore.

There are so many great restaurants around this area, including rooftop restaurant Orgo! So you don’t have to venture far after dinner before popping the question!

Another plus point, you can rent the roof terrance out! So if you’re looking to really wow your girlfriend/future fiancee, decorate the place up, grab some friends & family and make it a event she’ll never forget!

Located in the very exclusive Sentosa Cove is Quayside Isle. It’s the only dining and retail destination that overlooks the luxury waterfront (check out all the yachts!). What’s great about Quayside Isle,is that its quieter than Marina At Keppel Bay, yet gives the same air of luxury! It’s also home to the lavish W Singapore, so you can grab dinner or drinks there before taking a leisurely walk along the waterfront.

If She’s Into Art or Architecture…

National Gallery

National Gallery

If you’re a true blue Singaporean you would know that the National Gallery occupies two of Singapore’s landmarks; the Old Supreme Court and City Hall. The history of this building dates back to the 1920s where it was first named the Municipal Building.

The Supreme Court and the adjacent City Hall underwent a thorough restoration from 2012 until its grand opening in 2015.

If you’ve stepped into the National Gallery you would know that most if not all of the original architecture still remains. Let’s be honest, the art work pales in comparison to the grandeur of this national monument.

What’s great about the National Gallery is that the architecture and overall feel is dependent on which section of the National Gallery you’re at. The Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden Gallery, the Former Supreme Court Foyer and Inside the Rotunda are amazing places to propose!

Love the ocean and looking for a proposal that will blow the socks off everyone (and your girlfriend of course)? Renting a private yacht might just be the perfect option for you. Pack a dinner and set sail on a private yacht! The great thing about chartering a private yacht is the amazing feeling of being alone together at sea. You just can’t beat the blue seas and bright blue sky if you’re looking for a romantic backdrop!

The great news? Singapore has quite a number of companies that rent out yachts and depending on the yacht you choose, how long you want to set sail and where you want to sail to (some are destination yachts and some stay within Singapore) prices can really vary.

You can decorate the place however you deem fit; flowers, candles, cute pictures the works! If you’re unsure on what kind of theme to go for, Buzzfeed, Youtube and Pintrest are chock full of simple and classic ideas. Rope in family and friends to help out with the surprise!

If you want to propose privately away from family, opt for a hotel suite!
