Unconventional Valentine’s Date Night Ideas For Couples Who Are Tired of Clichés

If 11 November (11.11) is the day for singles, then 14 February is the day for couples, and with it comes a whole slew of shopping opportunities. Valentine’s Day in Singapore is not something to be trifled with, and we have the stats to prove it.

In February 2015, a Groupon survey done on 20,694 of its global subscribers found that Singaporeans are among the top 3 spenders for Valentine’s Day, with .

That’s a lot of money, and apparently, most of it is channelled towards experiences, rather than the conventional dinners and flowers. So, we took the liberty of compiling a list of unconventionally interesting Valentine’s gifts that you and your partner will enjoy.

1. Be My (Foodie) Valentine

Chope[/caption]

Valentine’s Day tends to be rather headache-inducing when it comes to making restaurant reservations. Booking last minute can burn a veritable hole in your budget, or end up with dinner at a fast food restaurant.

A Guavapass[/caption]

GuavaPass is a startup that connects you to gyms and fitness studios all over the world. For the couple afraid that all the Valentine’s chocolates would add a few more pounds, or for those who enjoy working out together, this is the gift for you.

The great thing about GuavaPass is that discounting their worldwide networks, they also have studios in almost every corner of Singapore, so finding a place to workout has never been easier. The second great thing about the GuavaPass is that it helps you shed all those chocolate pounds, as well as give you that healthy glow.

3. Be My (Beauty) Valentine

[caption id="attachment_24486" align="alignnone" width="768"] Amaris B. Clinic[/caption]

All the chocolates and dining out might not be good for the skin, so after a decadent meal, or even as a post-workout downtime for the both of you, how about a facial? And I don’t mean one of those animal print masks either. No, I’m talking more about a decadent experience to share with your partner.

The Amaris B. Clinic features several skin treatments for both 4. Be My (Adventure) Valentine [caption id="attachment_24487" align="alignnone" width="768"] bemyguest[/caption]

Put a healthy adventure spin on Valentine’s with BeMyGuest.

The platform curates a mind-boggling array of activities for anyone looking for a day of action and fun. Rather than the conventional dinner and flowers, take your date out to the Adventure Cove Waterparkwerk it together in a twerking class, or even learn how to snowboard!

The fun part about BeMyGuest is that it doesn’t just cover Singapore, but more than 800 destinations from Budapest, Hungary to Tokyo, Japan.

Exercise and eating right can give you that special glow for Valentine’s, and for that extra boost of radiance, here comes gift no. 5.

5. Be My (Body Makeover) Valentine

For a more luxurious experienceyou and your partner can also consider signing up for medical aesthetic treatments, something that would revamp your whole outlook so that you and your partner can become the people you want to be together.

A good option for ladies to consider, if you’re not the GuavaPass type of person, but are the type to worry about what all the holiday snacking will do to your body is Amaris B. signature fat reduction and body contouring treatment: Vaser Liposelection (VASERlipo). This is the Vulcan Post.

An Acai Affair: Fall In Love With Healthy, Delicious & Instagram-able Acai Bowls

If you haven’t tried an acai (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) bowl yet, you don’t know what you’re missing out on. And if you have, then you’ll be delighted to know that the newest acai specialty shop on the block has just opened.

Get ready for An Acai Affair!

Tucked in the heart of Katong (right opposite 112 Katong), An Acai Affair is the two-month-old brainchild of two of Discover SG’s very own ambassadors, Anna and Isabel.

They’re on a mission to raise greater awareness about acai and its countless health benefits, by making acai bowls more accessible and affordable to everyone.

A What Affair?

Acai is truly a crazily healthy treat, perfect for you health nuts out there. This Brazilian superfood lowers cholesterol, boosts immunity, is energy boosting and rich in antioxidants.

It’s a tiny berry that packs a big punch, and we wonder why it’s still so underrated in Singapore.

At An Acai Affair, the purple acai berries are blended into an ice-cream like texture–essentially ice-cream minus the guilt. It forms the crucial base of all its acai bowl and smoothies.

Their acai is also personally sourced, fresh from a Brazilian friend and supplier.

Tropical Coconut Bowl

The Tropical Coconut bowl has to be the most photogenic acai bowl out there–and that’s saying a lot! It’s their signature too, so be sure to try it.

It’s chock full of superfoods: kiwis, pineapples, dragonfruit, strawberries, blueberries, granola, chia seeds, raw cacao nibs, goji berries and coconut shavings galore.

The toppings sit atop the chilled acai base, and that makes it super refreshing on a hot day. You can even scrape and eat the coconut flesh at the end. Double win!

An Acai Affair’s acai base is unbelievably smooth–you won’t find any graininess at all. Cut daily, the fresh fruits offer a burst of sweetness and texture with every bite.

Acai Chia Parfait

The Acai Chia Parfait is similar to the Tropical Coconut Bowl, ingredient-wise, but with a generous layer of chia seed pudding to boot. The chia seeds balance out the sweetness of the frozen acai, and are loaded with nutrients themselves.

Did we mention that An Acai Affair’s acai base isn’t diluted with anything at all? That means it’s a hundred percent smooth and flavourful, without being the least bit icy or watery.

While their handcrafted combinations are a sure bet, you can also make sure all your favourite ingredients are in, by ordering from the pick and and mix menu.

The thirstier of you can also go for the wide selection of smoothies!

Secret Garden

If you walk all the way into the shop, you’ll also discover a secret outdoor garden, with cushions, pillows and mats aplenty.

Tuck into your yummy acai bowl in this cosy outdoor garden.

It’s perfect for chill nights and hearty conversations, and of course as the prettiest backdrop for your photos.

You can even come in the evening to catch movie screenings here on some weekends!

Behind The Affair

You’ve probably noticed the abundance of gyms and yoga studios around Katong. But what’s exercise without healthy food alternatives?

That’s what An Acai Affair is here for. They’ve partnered with surrounding gyms – flashing your gym pass gets you discounts! Living a healthier lifestyle has never been so easy.

The interior of the shop was also lovingly designed by the owners themselves, as are the acai bowl combinations. Chow down your acai by the hand-painted wall for personal, cosy vibes all around.

Ready to have an affair with acai?

Gorging on one of these light and refreshing acai bowls from An Acai Affair will leave you feeling satisfied and good inside, without the bloatedness and guilt.

If you think that something good for you definitely won’t taste good, then eating your own words has never been more delicious.

Because Skydiving Is Expensive AF, iFly Singapore Lets You Enjoy The Flight Without Feeling The Burn

Always wanted to try skydiving but don’t have the courage or funds to do so? Why not try indoor skydiving for a taste of the real thing!

With a safe and controlled indoor environment, you don’t have to worry about anything going wrong. Plus, you will only need to pay a fraction of the price!

Located a stone’s throw away from Sentosa’s Beach Station, iFly Singapore is a state-of-the-art flight facility that is also the largest themed indoor skydiving simulator in Southeast Asia.

Designed with an airport theme in mind, features like a flight status board at the entrance for customers to check when to ‘board’ their flight and the sound of airplanes in the training room make a trip to iFly Singapore a total experience.

Finding Our Wings

We tried the First Timer Challenge Package ($119), which consists of 2 skydives of 45 seconds each. That is the same time it takes to free fall from 12,000 to 3,000 feet, as with an actual skydive!

After registering and signing the waiver and indemnity forms, you’ll watch a few video presentations which will take you through certain safety procedures and some things to take note of while flying in the wind tunnel.

Once all these nitty gritties are over and done with, it’s time to learn how to fly!

Your flight instructor will guide you through a practical training where you learn how to posture yourself during flight, how to enter and leave the wind tunnel, and some simple hand signals to communicate while in the wind tunnel. (You’ll be wearing earplugs while in there!)

You’ll finish with some light stretching, before heading to the Gear Up counter to get suited up!

[caption id="attachment_23120" align="alignnone" width="3318"] DiscoverSG Ambassadors Vanessa, Nicholas and Hilda in their flight gear[/caption]

During the flight, there isn’t much to remember: have your arms out at right angles, bend your legs slightly and keep your chin up.

Each flyer will enter the wind tunnel one at a time, which means you’ll get the instructor’s full attention while flying! He will be watching or holding on to you, depending on how much help you need.

[caption id="attachment_23122" align="alignnone" width="3318"] Vanessa attempting ‘Belly Flying’, the most basic of the four positions of body flight[/caption]

From inside the wind tunnel, you’ll be treated to a gorgeous view of the South China Sea. If you time your flight exactly right, you can even catch the fireworks from the nearby Wings of Time that happens nightly!

DSG Tip: To see the fireworks while flying, try catching a 8.00pm or 9.00pm flight.

While your first flight might be a bit of a hot mess (as mine was), you’ll probably get the hang of it by the second flight. After knowing what to expect in the wind tunnel and having had some practice, you’ll be more at ease and enjoy the flight a whole lot more!

What You Can Expect…

One thing we definitely did not expect from our flight was getting saliva all around our mouths, and for some of us, even on our faces! Yep, that’s what happens when there are strong winds blowing at your face when your mouth is open while flying.

[caption id="attachment_23123" align="alignnone" width="3318"] The usual body flight wind speed ranges from 160 to 190kmph, although the four fans that power the wind can produce air speeds of up to 200 kmph—faster than the average speed of an F1 car![/caption]

Another thing we found was that our hair got really tangled from the flight. Girls, expect to be fiddling away with your hair, detangling the knots in it hours after flying, especially if you have long hair! Make sure you take pictures before and not after flying!

DSG Tip: Bring a hair brush if you need to meet someone special/important post-flight.

All these minor inconveniences aside, the flight is definitely an exhilarating experience, especially if you have always wanted to try skydiving! You can even learn cool tricks like flips and flying upside down—but only after you’ve got the basics down.

[caption id="attachment_23121" align="alignnone" width="3069"] Upon completion of your flight, you’ll receive a certificate stating the achievements you have made![/caption]

The other flyers and I felt extremely safe throughout our flights. iFly Singapore opens its doors to flyers from as young as 7 to as old as 106–that tells you something about the safety standards at the facility!

To give you that added peace of mind, all instructors at iFly Singapore have undergone intensive training complying with the rules and regulations of the International Bodyflight Association (IBA). So, rest assured you’re in capable hands.

Indoor skydiving was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie or someone seeking a new experience, indoor skydiving is definitely an experience worth trying. Who knows, you just might find yourself a new passion!

These Poké Bowls Are Worth Poking Your Forks And Spoons Into!

Joining the latest #eatclean craze within our little red dot are Poké bowls. With no relation to Pokémon, Poké bowls (pronounced ‘poh-kay’) actually originated from tropical Hawaii.

If you are not sure what a Poké bowl consists of, it is essentially a Hawaiian-inspired Chirashi don – slices of raw fish such as tuna or salmon with your choice of rice or greens, topped with sesame seeds, seaweed or other topping variations.

With the slew of Poké bowls popping up around Singapore, it is only a matter of time before we succumb to this latest healthy food trend. If you have finally decided to jump on the bandwagon, here are some Poké bowls in Singapore worth poking your forks and spoons into!

1. A Poke Theory

If you have a considerable appetite and are a little nitpicky about your food, A Poke Theory is the perfect place for you. Here at A Poke Theory, there is no such thing as a signature poké bowl. Whether you prefer sushi rice as opposed to lettuce or tuna as your choice of sashimi, you get to customise your poké bowl just the way you like it!

[caption id="attachment_22720" align="aligncenter" width="1000"] Credit: Credit: 2. Aloha Poké

As one of the pioneering poké bowl places in Singapore, Aloha Poké brought a taste of Hawaii back to our sunny little island in 2014 and helped kick-start the poké bowl food trend! With fresh and generous amounts of tuna and salmon, paired with a wide selection of add-ons and superfoods, you can indulge in a hearty bowl of healthy goodness, minus the guilt factor.

[caption id="attachment_22723" align="aligncenter" width="1999"] Credit: Credit: 3. Katto

For a wholesome and budget-friendly poké bowl, you should absolutely make a trip down to Katto! This quick-service restaurant serves up some delicious poké bowls with a Singaporean twist. On top of the locally-inspired flavours, you can expect a Katto bowl of healthy carbs and protein, and of course, not forgetting the fresh premium sashimi!

Nestled within the hipster PasarBella in Suntec City, Rollie Ollie is an Asian fusion restaurant with a touch of Californian style. Known for its made-to-order fresh sushi rolls, Rollie Ollie also offers appetising Asian- inspired poké bowls that are full of flavour and texture!

Furthermore, you have the option of swapping out certain ingredients if there are any that are not to your liking! However, do note that the golden hours to indulge in their wholesome poké bowls is only between 11am to 8pm.

Healing Touch Is The Busy Millennial’s Solution To Stubborn Fat And Difficult Skin

We millennials are a busy bunch. Between sitting on our butts all day, balancing school, work, our social lives and the 101 other commitments we keep these days, there are definitely some things that fall by the wayside, including our fitness, skin health, and sometimes, even our general well-being.

Who has the time to hit the gym three times a week or to religiously go through a 5-step skin routine? Well, every now and then, it’s good to stop, take a break, and find a fix for some of the things you’ve been neglecting until now.

If you’re all about quick fixes when it comes to your weight, skin, or if you just want to purge your body of all the tiredness within it, Healing Touch has your back. The beauty chain whose core services include facials, massages and slimming has won awards from CLEO, Women’s Weekly and TripdAdvisor, sealing its status as a peoples’ favourite.

Its staff are friendly and highly experienced, they use quality products and the latest technologies. And the best part? It won’t cost you a bomb!

Last week, I popped by the branch in Orchid Country Club to give its slimming treatment and facials a go and this was what went down.

Slimming Treatment

The slimming treatment I tried was the Slim Lipo-Laser Treatment ($230 excl. GST) and the staff there guaranteed—as they do with all their first time customers—that I would lose 5cm around my waist. A little bit skeptical at first, I went for it and wound up losing a total of 8.5cm within the 60 minute session! I was definitely surprised by the results.

[caption id="attachment_22944" align="alignnone" width="1280"] Each slimming room comes equipped with a hanger to hang your clothes and a locker to store your things[/caption]

The treatment uses a machine called a ‘Lipo Laser’. During the treatment, after the skin is prepped with a Complex AHA fruit acid, a total of 8 laser light emitting plates are strapped across the tummy region. It sounds scary, but trust me, it isn’t!

The lasers penetrate the skin, targeting fat cells and releasing water and free fatty acid. This effectively causes the fat cells to “shrink”, which is how you lose the inches around your tummy! After this, the slimming therapist conducts a Manual Lymph Drainage massage to flush out all that water and nasty toxins that was released earlier.

The heat from the metal plates can be a little painful, especially if you’re on or near the beginning/end of your period (like I was), because the skin tends to be more sensitive during this time. Don’t try to bear with it like I did! Feel free to let the attentive staff know if it’s too hot, and she will make adjustments accordingly.

[caption id="attachment_22945" align="alignnone" width="1249"] The Lipo Laser machine[/caption]

As the lasers were working away at “melting” my fats, the therapist went through a questionnaire to find out more about my lifestyle habits—how much water I drink, how often I exercise, etc.—as well as my weight loss goals—what my goal weight is, when was the last time I was at my goal weight, etc.

When the session was over, we had a short consultation where she advised me on how to lead a healthier lifestyle, and made sure I had realistic expectations when it came to achieving and maintaining my goal body, i.e. it takes a total lifestyle change. Slimming treatments without any accompanying changes to your nutritional habits or exercise frequency won’t do the trick, especially not in the long run.

While the Lipo-Laser Treatment is definitely a quick fix when you need it, I think it’s great that Healing Touch employs a holistic approach toward weight loss, providing nutritional coaching and motivating customers to live healthier beyond just administering the treatment, so they can better achieve their goal physiques.

Facial

For the facial, I tried the NEO Energy Advanced Facials ($226 excl. GST), a 90 minute bespoke facial where you get to use 2 of 5 cutting edge technologies, depending on your skin issues.

[caption id="attachment_22954" align="alignnone" width="1126"] For the NEO Energy Advanced Facials, the facialist recommends you 2 of 5 latest technologies and customizes the treatment to your skin’s needs[/caption]

The 5 are Meso Infusion, which facilitates the penetration of serum for more hydrated, firmer skin; D-Sonic Deep Cleansing for a deep clean of the skin; Sonic Muscle Toning for firming and lifting; LED Multi-Purpose, to promote the production of collagen; as well as Bio-Mask Refining, to minimize pores as well as to brighten.

Because the beautician identified uneven skin tone, blackheads and enlarged pores as my key skin issues, she recommended Meso Infusion and Bio-Mask Refining. The treatment was so relaxing I actually fell asleep!

[caption id="attachment_22946" align="alignnone" width="1265"] Healing Touch uses skincare products from Japanese brands Organic Time and Dr. Proens[/caption]

After giving my face a thorough double cleanse, as well as a routine extraction, the beautician applied a customized serum to my face and gently massaged it in using the Neo Energy Mesotherapy probe which was tuned to the optimal frequency for penetration (Meso Infusion).

Next, she applied 6 pairs of electrodes to the face through a face mask. While the positive ion plates helped with detoxification and removal of dirt and oil, the negative ion plates helped with the delivery of the active ingredients of the serum used, as well as with brightening the face and the minimizing of pores (Bio-Mask Refining).

What struck me as quite unique about the facials here was that they pluck your eyebrows as part of the treatment. I was so surprised I actually asked “Is this part of the facial?” when the beautician offered to pluck them! Aside from that, the facial included a face and shoulder massage—again, an unexpected touch, but definitely a plus by me.

All the products used were lightly and beautifully scented and felt super luxurious, and as promised, at the end of the treatment, my pores were noticeably smaller and my skin felt soft and youthful again!

From my experience, it’s clear to see that the staff at Healing Touch are truly dedicated to serving its customers. With a strong no hard-selling policy, you don’t have to worry about having to commit to anything you’re not comfortable with. Whether it’s slimming, a facial, or a relaxing massage you’re in for, you’ll sure to leave feeling very, very satisfied.

Archery Battle Tag Is The Closest You’ll Get To A Legit ‘Hunger Games’

Let’s be honest, as local Singaporeans who grew up in sunny Singapore, we’ve all been through our fair share of orientation games and bonding camps. Every CCA camp and school orientation would have been chock full of team building games that were suppose to bring you closer to your peers (let’s admit it, they did).

We at the DiscoverSG office wanted to try out something a bit more unique (and fuss free) to bring our ambassadors together. So we headed down for a round of Archery Battle Tag at the Kovan Sports Centre for a bit of bonding!

Kovan Sports Centre

Arriving at the Kovan Sports Centre, we were thrilled to find the space was more than sufficient and they even have fake grass to stimulate being outdoors.

[caption id="attachment_20249" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Kovan Sports Center[/caption]

Popular with those keen to play futsal and bubble soccer the Kovan Sports Centre is the ideal spot to carry out sport themed activities rain or shine!

[caption id="attachment_20261" align="alignnone" width="818"] !

Archery Tag Battle

For those who have yet to heard about it, Archery Tag is a team building programme that gets participants to carry out mini simulation games using bows and foam-tipped arrows to shoot at each other.

[caption id="attachment_20242" align="alignnone" width="950"] Archery Tag Battle’s Soft Foam Arrows[/caption]

Archery Battle (Singapore) is the pioneer and the biggest organizer of Archery Battle Tag team building programs. Archery Battle can organise casual games for a fun-filled Saturday and team building programmes perfect for a corporate team building activity.

[caption id="attachment_20231" align="alignnone" width="950"]
Grayce practicing shooting[/caption]

Archery Battle Tag uses high quality Mongolian bows and even traditional Samurai Bows (you have to pay a little extra to get your hands on these)! Picking up the Mongolian bows they’re pretty light so you can fully focus on shooting instead. At Archery Battle they’re all about safety, so they only use safe foam arrows (getting hit by one won’t hurt or leave marks!) that are still travel long distances.

[caption id="attachment_20230" align="alignnone" width="950"] Shivon taking aim at the cones[/caption]

If you’re completely new to archery and have only dreamt of being like Katniss Everdeen, don’t fret! The team behind Archery Battle will be there to lend a hand and teach you the ins and outs behind a bow and arrow. Our ambassadors were given a fair bit of time to get comfortable with the bow and arrow.

Archery Tag Game Play

[caption id="attachment_20232" align="alignnone" width="1000"] 5 Minute Rounds Of Gameplay[/caption]

At Archery Battle they’ve got everything planned including gameplay. Our ambassadors were split into two teams and were given missions and objectives. Each round lasts about 5 minutes so gameplay remains exciting and yet still give players a chance to achieve the objectives set.

[caption id="attachment_20233" align="alignnone" width="1000"] Game objective: Knock over the cones[/caption]

Game objectives grew increasingly harder over time after our ambassadors had more time (and more experience) with the bow and arrows. Gameplay objectives started off with relatively easy goals such knocking down the cones of the opposite team. Towards the end of the session, gameplay included shooting arrows at moving targets (other players). The increasing difficulty of gameplay made the whole experience challenging yet still fun for all our ambassadors!

Five Reasons Why You Should Try Parkour At Least Once In Your Life

From scaling walls to jumping from rooftop to rooftop, the action movie junkie in us has always admired the stunts performed by the spies/secret agents. But as someone who feels a sense of achievement from just walking on the balancing beam at the fitness corner downstairs without falling, we sort of put our dreams of joining the spy-hood behind. That was until we were given the chance to attend a Parkour class.

Our ambassadors, Chelsea and Cheryl, attended the class too. Here’s a video of their experience:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BN4Ih55DygN/?taken-by=cherzinga

A French invented sport that focuses on overcoming obstacles in urban environments through running, jumping or climbing, Parkour is definitely not for the non-nimble. It’s sort of like a mandatory sport for spies in training.

[caption id="attachment_20165" align="alignnone" width="2048"] Tan Chi Ying, one of Singapore’s Parkour pioneers and founder of A2 Movements[/caption]

As we stood in the company of Tan Chi Ying, one of the pioneers of Singapore Parkour scene and founder of The Free Runner Lodge, an indoor Parkour facility, resembles a playground without stairs (who needs them when you can swing/climb/flip your way around, right?). Established in 2010, A2 Movements is Singapore’s first Parkour academy.

[caption id="attachment_20166" align="alignnone" width="1000"] The Free Runner Lodge – An indoor Parkour facility by A2 Movments[/caption]

After a couple of stretches, we stood face-to-face with a wooden block that was half our height.

Our mission was to place both our hands on the block’s surface before swinging our legs over and bringing our whole body over the obstacle. Sounds pretty doable, right? Wrong.

After multiple bruises the size of eggs on our legs, we’ve got to say, it definitely is not as easy as action movie stars make it out to be. It’s been a long introduction, so here are five reasons why Parkour will keep us coming back for more (bruises).

1. It’s A Great Workout

Never, ever underestimate the power of Parkour to work your muscles.

After an embarrassing half hour trying Parkour and using muscles we didn’t know existed, we were exhausted.

[caption id="attachment_20168" align="alignnone" width="1616"] Students in training[/caption]

So if you’re starved for time or are just looking to try a new workout, try Parkour.

2. It Pushes You Out Of Your Comfort Zone

As the Parkour session progressed, we found ourselves pushing our boundaries and achieving something we never thought was possible.

[caption id="attachment_20199" align="aligncenter" width="960"] Parkour puts your body to the test[/caption]

Most of us are right-handers, and we’re never good at using the left hand for anything. After some practice (and persuasion), not only did we manage to use our left hands to support our body weight, we were surprisingly comfortable with it.

3. It’s Really, Really Fun

It’s one thing to watch your favorite actors (or stuntmen) perform the stunts, and another to actually sort of perform them. Not only is it enjoyable, but the sense of achievement upon completion is also really high. Imagine doing this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R51FaRPCio0

Of course, tons of practice is needed, but how fun did that look? Super.

4. It’s a Solo Sport

Much like hitting the gym, Parkour focuses on you and you only. When we first stepped into class, we were surrounded by existing students who were too busy practicing their mid-air flips to notice our building nervousness. Die, sure kenna judge.

[caption id="attachment_20200" align="aligncenter" width="960"] No one’s judging here[/caption]

But as the session progressed, it hit us that firstly, everyone is here to learn. Secondly, everyone else is too busy perfecting their own moves to bother about you.

5. It Keeps One Unbelievably Young

Despite Chi Ying’s jaw-dropping consecutive midair somersaults, what really made our jaws drop was his age.

[caption id="attachment_20169" align="alignnone" width="1367"] How many of us can soar through the air like this after we hit the big three O?[/caption]

When asked for his secret to looking almost ten years younger than his actual age, Parkour was the answer. For those who are wondering, Chi Ying is 30 years old.

It may require a lot of practice, but Parkour has got to be one of the most satisfying sports around.

For those who are interested, the good news is that A2 Movements holds classes every day of the week and has various time slots for you to choose from! If you’re undecided about a long-time commitment ($200 for unlimited sessions a month), fear not – A2 Movements offers a one off-session ($25). Late Night Gyms: Because You Build Muscles While Others Sleep

Ever heard of the saying, “Treat your body like a shrine”? Besides ensuring that you have a nutritious diet, exercising is also a must. Late night gyms are on the surge in Singapore because there is definitely a demand for some of us nocturnal creatures.

Sometimes we get that intense rush of adrenaline in the middle of the night (especially when we want to take our mind off work, or if we had a particularly sinful dinner) and have to look for ways to expend those extra bouts of energy. That’s where late night gyms make all the difference.

1) Anytime Fitness

24-hour or late night gyms aren’t just a privilege anymore because they are slowly crawling into our residential areas. United States based fitness chain Anytime Fitness is a thriving franchise with over 30 late night gyms across the island.

Unlike typical gigantic gyms, Anytime Fitness operates on a smaller scale in your neighbourhood.

Equipped with cardio machines and free weights – basically everything you need to get a great workout in, we are sure the gym is perfect for everyone.

Since these late night gyms are usually unmanned after 9pm (to 9am, on weekdays), members will be given an all-access pass where they can access all 3,400 Anytime Fitness gyms worldwide, 24/7! We have to admit that this is kind of insane, but totally worth it.

If you typically go for a run in the great outdoors and hit the gym only occasionally, Gymmboxx is perfect for you as well.

At just $6 per entry (for 2 hours), you can switch up your usual workout and make full use of the equipment that is available in the gym.

Do note that only 3 out of their 7 branches are open 24/7.
