To ensure participants are suitable for the virtual reality experience, each participant is required to sign an indemnity form and attend a 10 minute VR trial experience. This is to ensure that if you have a history of motion sickness, this experience will not be physically uncomfortable.
Armed with hands-on experience on how to navigate the virtual reality world and a feel for the hand-sets, Evelyn headed off to experience some of the 23 games available!
There were tons of genres for all the different gamers out there: Zombie fighting, intergalatic space-fighting… You can even be a robot chef/waiter!
Here’s a sneak peak of one the games Evelyn enjoyed the most!
Tasked as either the chef or the robot waiter, this game is best played with 2 players. The player playing as the chef dons the VR headset while the player playing as the robot waiter controls his character with a computer keyboard.
Facing a flood of hungry robots craving handmade burgers, the two of you struggle to cook and serve food as quickly as possible, to keep your customers happy. Also, each time you successfully complete a round, balloons and confetti appear everywhere!
Headed by the owner of Lockdown SG and CoffeeMin, V-Room SG also has an adjoining CoffeeMin! A timed cafe concept, customers pay a small fee of $6 (weekday) or $8 (weekend, PH) per person for the first hour, with an additional $1 each for every 10 additional minutes spent there. State of Motion 2017: Through Stranger Eyes
For this activity, audiences will be presented with feature films where Singapore made an appearance.
While watching the films, you’ll be seeing the transformation of Singapore through strangers’ eyes.
Starting from the Pavilion at the National Library, audiences will be taken on a 3-hour bus tour to visit the exact locations seen in the films.

Wings of a Rich Manoeuvre
Made from over 14,000 Swarovski crystals, with eight wing-like kinetic chandeliers (each 1.2m long), and accentuated by LED light, homegrown artist Suzann Victor took 2 years to complete this masterpiece.
A perfect representation of the National Museum of Singapore’s authentic 19th-century neo-Palladian architecture melding with the modern glass wing, the artwork was designed to reflect light that shines through the glass windows.
They sway to 8 different swinging patterns as well, and can even form the shape of a dragon due to the customised electromagnets within.
No Regrets For Our Youth
Created by Singapore art collective DXXXXD, No Regrets For Our Youth explores the obsession with #fitspo and gym life that has proliferated in our society. In an attempt to understand the relationship one has with their body as a health or vanity focus, DXXXXD has transformed Music Studio 1 in Aliwal Arts Centre into an artistic jungle gym. This exhibit will feature sculptures in the form of common gym equipment, and may even offer bodybuilding and wrestling workshops. No Regrets For Our Youth Running for the 3rd year in a row, ARTWALK Little India is a public art project set in Little India. Set to the theme of Your Path To Remember, audiences this year are encouraged to walk through Little India and uncover the memories and stories of Singapore’s past. Cirque Adrenaline’s troupe of over 30 performers is renowned for its theatrical flair and jaw-dropping acrobatic displays. We headed down to Cirque Adrenaline and we must admit, we were spellbound by the displays of strength, agility and sheer bravery.
Wheel Of Death

The piece de resistance of Cirque Adrenaline had to be Wheel of Death, with two agile trapeze artists perched precariously on a structure hanging above the audience the Wheel Of Death had even us gasping with shock. By far our favourite act of the entire show, the Wheel of Death pushes the boundaries of high-risk stunts.

Duo Strap[/caption]
If you’re a fan of Cirque De Soleil, the Duo Strap might just be your favourite aeriel act. It was amazing how flexible and agile the performers were. Watching them move so gracefully and in tandem with such careful precision, made us mere mortals feel slightly more than clumsy!
Sphere of Fear

Another Cirque Adrenaline act that will make it worth every cent spent is the Sphere of Fear. Once an act that was often witnessed at carnivals. This particular act sees a motorcyclists make 360 turns within a metal sphere. The feat is difficult and dangerous enough, but Cirque Adrenaline sets a whole standard for this high-risk stunt. With 3 motorcyclist making synchronised stunts missing each other by split seconds the Sphere of Fear was certainly a heart-pounding act worth catching.

Fire Act[/caption]
The Fire Act not only caught our attention, it also made us realise the sheer bravery, time and effort that goes behind every act during Cirque Adrenaline. The Fire Act saw fire-breathers twirling multiple rods of flames. If we doubted the authenticity of the flames, we were proven wrong when the smell of ash and flames filled the theatre.

A Taste Of Home: Paradise Classic’s New Menu Will Remind You Of Grandma’s Cooking
Winning our hearts with Chinese cuisine since their opening in 2009, our favourite Paradise Inn has since rebranded themselves as Paradise Classic. The intention is to allow everyone to appreciate the art of fine Nanyang-style cuisine.
Inspired by the widespread use of local ingredients and spices, together with the different cooking styles across Asia, a new menu was born. As expected, the dishes are all well-prepared with the hearts of a team of well-trained chefs, bringing you that familiar taste of home-cooked dishes.
The Menu
The nutritious Double-boiled Chicken Soup ($24.80 per pot) is a mainstay on their menu. Kampong chicken, together with seven Chinese herbs, are slowly simmered for more than 4 hours to produce a nourishing and satisfying pot of soup.
So robust and rich in flavours, this soup is a definite must-try.
Craving for something a little more to the classic side?
Try the Crisp-Fried Fish Tossed in Sweet and Spicy Sauce ($6.80 per portion). The balance of sweet and spicy notes is sure to stimulate your palate.
A new addition to their mains is the Espresso Chicken ($13.80 [Small]). Switching things up a little, Paradise Inn has replaced the usual pork ribs with chicken for this dish.
A full hour is needed to condense and reduce the coffee sauce to a glaze, so you can imagine all the efforts their chefs take to perfect this dish.
The Braised Tofu with Crystal Prawns ($18.80 [Small]) has accompanied Paradise Classic since their early beginnings and of course, this simple but wonderful dish will be staying on the menu.
Just look at those succulent prawns perched on top of the soft and silky tofu. What a wonderful combination!
Another returning favourite is their Stir-fried Pork Ribs with Bitter Gourd ($13.80 [Small]). Pairing the juicy pork ribs and crunchy bitter gourd with black bean sauce brings out the delightful and unique taste of the dish without overpowering it.
Tantalising Desserts
End the exquisite gourmet Nanyang experience with dessert.
A new dish inspired by our local flavours, the Trio Layered Osmanthus Pandan Cake ($4.20 per portion) looks as good as it tastes.
Layers of coconut milk, pandan and osmanthus jelly come together to create that well-balanced harmony.
Take a bite to relish the interplay of flavours of the three layers.
If that’s still not enough, try the chilled Lemongrass Jelly with Lemonade ($3.80 per portion).
This dessert will certainly wow you with its tantalising citrusy note. Perfect for cleansing the palate after a great meal.

Renga-Ya is a Japanese BBQ and steakhouse. Its name means ”brick house” in Japanese and that is also the theme of Renga-Ya’s decor.
