Given our affinity for memes and gifs, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has decided to spread the message of adoption in a language and form we millennials are sure to understand: Memes.

15 Local Filmmakers Are Teaming Up On One Film Project – And You Can Be A Part Of It
Many of us know Singapore’s story by heart.
We know the landmark events and key figures who helped shape our nation into what it is today. But how many of us truly know who we were? The people, the lives, the stories that made up the tapestry of our nation?
15 Short Films – From The Ground Up is a collaboration between Blue3Asia and the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) that aims to bring these untold stories to life through the medium of film.

15 Short Films will see 15 local filmmakers and online creators including producer Daniel Yun, Pop Aye’s Kirsten Tan, YouTuber Jian Hao Tan, and many others, coming together to tell the stories of real Singaporeans.
Told and interpreted in a diversity of styles, this series of films uncovers the stories of the people we were, spanning Singapore’s history, from post-independence till the turn of the millennium.
Each film will run for 5 – 10 minutes, each centering on one Singaporean. Starting in June, these films will be released both online and on traditional platforms.
At the end of day, 15 Short Films has one objective in mind: to show that giving, and the compassionate and inclusive side of us has always been there.
Funding From The Ground Up

We dropped in on Central Perk SG, and we must say, it takes the idea of a themed cafe to the next level.

Friends fans will defo go crazy for this cafe’s interior. We were impressed by how it had the Central Perk Cafe cut right down to the tiniest detail.
While there, we also had a good laugh trying out their edible helium balloons, the latest addition to their extensive themed menu.

KBBQ has been around for a while now, but you have to try the ultimate Korean charcoal grill experience at Seorae.

Seorae is no ordinary Korean Restaurant. It’s the first Galmaegisal restaurant in Singapore. That’s a special pork cut that’s only available in 5% of the pig.

Flying Monkey brings the fun back into dining!
This contemporary Indian restaurant and bar is casual, quirky and a belly rubbing kinda yummy!

Housed in the culturally rich district of Kampong Glam, they offer authentic Pan-Indian cuisine with a pinch of excitement.
Our ambassador, Vanessa fell in love with The Flying Monkey cocktail, a smoked cocktail with a roasted aroma akin to an 18 year old whisky.

Always wanted to go on a treasure hunt? Now you can at Whisper of the Guardians!
The 3rd event of its kind, brought to life by LockdownSG and Think Out Events, this year’s epic adventure will take place in and around Chinatown.
Previously, we wrote about the premise of this adventure. Essentially, a shop house owner found an old scroll containing information leading to a hidden treasure that’s been left behind since WWII. You have been hired to decipher the scroll and find the elusive treasure.

Our DiscoverSG ambassadors took up the challenge and had a blast journeying through Chinatown, trekking past famous (and some not so famous) paths on their quest to find the booty.
Having gone through the experience themselves, here are their golden tips to finding the treasure–and don’t worry, there are no spoilers ahead!

“It was very challenging–perhaps a little too challenging because we had to get loads of hints from the gamemasters.

Be prepared to have your brains fried at the end of the day. I don’t think it’s easy, but it’s worth the try!”

“The ‘touring’ of this game will actually be like a history excursion which makes studying our history damn fun!

“We basically learnt how to read maps for those of us who didn’t already know how, and practice our map skills for those who do.
Pro Tip: Read more about Chinatown! Maybe know the roads, dress comfortably, don’t bring a big bag, and most importantly, enjoy yourself!”

“I liked how it required us to think thoroughly for each challenge and puzzle and the whole group contributed in one way or another.
