Cafes in Singapore are always coming and going. And honestly, they’re all starting to look the same especially in recent years.

However, one particular cafe in Hougang caught our attention and we’re pretty sure it’s nothing like you’ve ever seen before.

Wild Blooms is a two-storey, floral-themed cafe nestled in Hougang – a refreshing change from the usual cookie-cutter cafes we have seen in Singapore.

Just like it’s decor, all their desserts are floral-themed as well. From Rose Apple Pies ($5.90) to Muesli Tarts ($5.90), Wild Blooms boasts a wide array of IG-worthy desserts that you would not want to miss out on.

Planning An Amazing Hen’s Night Can Be Tough, So We Let An Online Sex Shop Do It For Us

When it comes to hen nights or bachelorette parties, many assume that everyone has to get drunk in order to have fun. However, this may not be every bride-to-be’s cup of tea.

If you’re in charge of your friend’s hen party and you’re not too keen on the usual bar-hop for a once in a lifetime bachelorette bash – here’s another fun and not so cliche way to celebrate your friend’s impending nuptial while bonding with your BFFs.

Forget the male strippers, Maison Mika is here to help you put together the best soirée for the bride-to-be; a fun, elegant and sexy affair.

[caption id="attachment_37772" align="aligncenter" width="746"]bachelorette party Image Credit: Maison Mika Facebook[/caption]

The Ultimate Hen Party

Maison Mika is a brand established by Asian women for Asian women. Maison Mika’s conception dates back to New York City in 2005 when founder, Trina Yeung, was living there and noticed a movement of sex shops in the neighbourhood of Soho.

When Trina moved to Singapore in 2009, she realised that there were nothing like that available in the city. Hence, Maison Mika was born to help debunk the misconception that sex shops are “sleazy” and to get more people talking about sex.

The online store currently has a wide range of products made from medical-grade materials for men, women, couples and singles included! Beyond being a beautiful online sex shop, they organise workshops and masterclasses on sexual wellness.

[caption id="attachment_37802" align="aligncenter" width="811"] GIF Credit: DiscoverSG[/caption]

Recently, they launched “The Ultimate Hen Party” – a 90 minute masterclass on the topic(s) of your choice. From learning about the art of seduction to learning how to better satisfy your partner in bed, an expert will guide you through the night filled with memories for a long time to come.

We thought what better way to end a long day at work than to throw a hen party for our “fake bride”. The lovely folks at Maison Mika came to our studio to throw us a Hen Party that was filled with laughs and lots of information we never knew we needed!

[caption id="attachment_37768" align="aligncenter" width="6000"]bachelorette party Image Credit: Discover SG[/caption]

Quickly getting us out of our shells, we kicked off the night with a quick quiz on the topic of sex.

[caption id="attachment_37771" align="aligncenter" width="6000"]bachelorette party Image Credit: Discover SG[/caption]

The conversation then moved on to learning about pleasuring each other in a relationship with tips on how to improve our game. As sex toys were passed around and stories were exchanged, Trina and our expert, Liz, took their time to carefully explain the products that were laid out in front of us.

[caption id="attachment_37769" align="aligncenter" width="6000"]bachelorette party Image Credit: Discover SG[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_37764" align="aligncenter" width="685"]bachelorette party GIF Credit: Discover SG[/caption]

During the last 30 minutes of our session, we had an intimate no-holds-barred Q&A session about love, toys and accessories.

The best part is that they will bring a selection of their most popular items, and any purchases made on the night will be eligible for a 15% discount off the online store price.

[caption id="attachment_37765" align="aligncenter" width="6000"]bachelorette party Image Credit: Discover SG[/caption]

If you’ve always been curious about sex toys and unsure where to start, the masterclass held by Maison Mika is the perfect place to start.

Maison Mika’s events are tailored and structured as they will have a pre-consultation call with the lead guest first to discuss in detail what they would like to learn about and discuss.

Who says a night out with the girls has to end with aching feet and slight hearing loss? Skip the high heels and deafening club and throw the best hen’s party for the bride-to-be.

Make your girls’ night in bold and uninhibited, filled with great memories for a long time to come.

The obvious reason one might visit the Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo is for the extensive range of Pokémon branded merchandise. Another reason would be to see the Pokémon statues. So we’re praying real hard that we’ll see a couple of these giant statues in Singapore’s Pokémon Centre as well.

We’re pretty sure once the Pokemon Centre opens in Singapore, it will be full of frenzied fans clutching shopping baskets overflowing with merchandise (because, you “gotta catch ’em all,” right?).

While there’s no news on how big the shop at Jewel Changi Airport will be, we’re sure it won’t disappoint!

A Rolex Watch For $6/Day? These S’pore Companies Let You Rent Luxury Watches For Cheap

A watch is more than just a time-telling device. They’re a great way for you to stand out from the crowd and express your personal style. It’s no wonder a lot of men enjoy collecting them – picking out different styles to go with different outfits, changing straps to suit specific occasions, and so on.

It used to be nigh on impossible to get a men’s watch that won’t burn a hole in your pocket. And honestly, not all of us can afford a Rolex Submariner or an Omega Speedmaster.

However it seems like Singapore has hit peak sharing economy. From taking a GrabShare ride to work to riding an ofo bike over the weekends, it seems like you can practically lease or share anything now – even a $18,000 Rolex watch.

[caption id="attachment_37780" align="aligncenter" width="1211"] Image Credit: @acquired.time[/caption]

Try First, Buy Later

There are already 2 subscription watch clubs – Acquired Time and TenTwo who have been offering watch rental services, with a third – Specter One, set to launch in October, according to CNA Lifestyle.

People in Singapore are resorting to renting expensive watches to wear that they cannot afford yet or ever. Just like how there are designer bag rental services for the women, it seems like subscription watch clubs is going to become a thing for men in Singapore.

[caption id="attachment_37778" align="aligncenter" width="976"]watch rental services Rolex Submariner | Image Credit: @acquired.time[/caption]

For as low as $6 a day, you could be sporting a luxury watch on your wrist for that upcoming black-tie event or a night out with your bros.

Renting Over Buying

If you fear buyer’s remorse, then renting a luxury watch before sinking a hefty amount of money into it is always a smarter option.

The founders of Acquired Time and TenTwo believe that renting watches is a first step for some before plonking down tens of thousands of dollars for an expensive timepiece. They founded their respective platforms with the idea that they could provide a service where users could lease timepieces and wear it on their wrist before making a purchase decision.

How It Works

All three firms rent their watches on a tiered membership subscription.

Essentially, users will pay a flat monthly fee for a stipulated period – say 6 or 12 months.

All you have to do is to choose a watch from your chosen tier, wear it for a month and return it at the end of the 30 days in exchange for a different timepiece.

Acquired Time:

[caption id="attachment_37776" align="aligncenter" width="2522"]watch rental services Image Credit: Acquired Time[/caption]

Acquired Time has the most tiers – four, with the lowest (Nomad Tier) priced at $125/month, equivalent to $4.16/day. And the highest (Wayfarer Tier) prices at $375/month, equivalent to $12.15/day. All four membership tiers has a minimum of a 6 month subscription.

Some of the watches included in the highest tier includes the Rolex Daytona, which retails for upwards of $18,000 and the Audemars Piguet ROO, which retails for a whopping upwards of $25,000.

With Acquired Time, you’re essentially paying a fraction of the actual retail price of these luxury timepieces.

TenTwo:

[caption id="attachment_37777" align="aligncenter" width="2538"]watch rental services Image Credit: TenTwo[/caption]

TenTwo currently offers two collections – Flagship and Microbrand.

They currently offer three membership options across the two collections, being:

  • Flagship Collection: 12 month membership, $179/month
  • Flagship Collection: 6 month membership, $199/month
  • Microbrand Explorer Pack: 3 months at $149

The Flagship collection gives you access to popular watches such as the Rolex Submariner, Tudor Black Bay, Omega Speedmaster and Cartier Santos

Specter One:

The details of their membership are still being finalised. The firm is planning on offering a “Reserve Membership” tier for those who do not want to commit to a long-term membership subscription.

Users are able to rent watches daily or weekly, depending on how long you’ll need it for.

So whether you need a watch for an important meeting, black-tie event, night out or just to wear something new and exciting, you can look into watch rental services and subscriptions to make it happen.

Rolex today, Omega tomorrow? Who knows!

PSA: Salted Egg Indomie Is Finally Available In Singapore At All Fairprice Finest Outlets For Just $1 A Packet

salted egg indomie

Indomie is a physical manifestation of instant deliciousness. I’m pretty sure it has to be made with something terrible for your body because it’s like crack. One packet is never enough.

Indomie is not just any instant ramen, it’s a religious experience.

If you eat Indomie on a regular basis, then you’ll know that they launched a Salted Egg Flavour back in August. It went instantly viral and Singaporeans being Singaporeans, we went absolutely nuts because it was only available in Indonesia.

[caption id="attachment_37738" align="aligncenter" width="1220"]salted egg indomie Image Credit: @finestfoodsg[/caption]

This Is Premium Indomie

Now, I’m sure half of us are sick and tired of anything Salted Egg but you can’t say no to Indomie.

On its packaging, the product is described as a ‘Curly Fried Noodle’. A gold foil label earnestly proclaims: “Mi keriting dengan rasa lebih mantap lengkap dengan bumbu pasta dan daun kari” (that’s Bahasa Indonesia for curly noodles with stronger flavour, complete with pasta spices and curry leaves).

After months of waiting (and crying), you can finally get your hands on these amazing noodles right here in our supermarkets!

Take note that they are only available at all Fairprice Finest outlets, and not in normal NTUC Fairprice or Fairprice Xtra outlets.

The only possible way to get your hands on the Salted Egg Indomie then was to ship it in, but even then, you had to buy it in sets of 10 packets. Now, you can get 1 packet for just $1 or 5 packets for $4.50!

This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. If you’re looking for a speedy, fuss-free meal tonight, you know where to go.

Pro-tip: Always add a good sunny side up to your noodles.

I love you Indomie. Thanks for bringing in your Salted Egg Noodles to Singapore.

You’re our true hero.
