Singapore Fashion Week has just passed us and while there were some amazing eye catching collections on the runway, one particular collection that caught our attention is Hardy Hardy!

Hardy Hardy is all about embracing the young, spirited and rebellious wearer. While the street wear label does have a Dawn of the the Dead signature logo that is quite reminiscent of Ed Hardy’s skull motif, Hardy Hardy embodies a sense of urban cool than is pretty far from Ed Hardy’s signature looks.

10 Things Only A Coffee Addict Who Needs At Least A Cup Of Coffee A Day Will Know

Basically heaven in a mug, we can’t remember a time when coffee wasn’t a part of our lives. To celebrate our love for the beverage, we’ve come up with a list of things only a coffee addict lover can relate to. FYI, it is not just a beverage to keep us awake in the mornings (though it helps).

1. Waking Up to the Smell of Coffee

Ahh yes, nothing satisfies you more than waking up to its delicious aroma. Forget the alarm clock, as soon as the smell starts wafting in, you’ll be up in no time.

2. Life Begins Only After Coffee

Seriously, why do people even try talking to you before you’ve had your morning cup? Do they not understand your inability to function as a human being before that?

3. Having A Coffee-Bathroom Schedule

You know how it uh, tends to speed things up in the bowel department? Let’s just say that having the ability to predict your bathroom habits (especially in the mornings) is a very useful skill.

4. Knowing the Difference Between A Macchiato and A Mochaccino

Not to be a snob, but it’s important to know the different types of coffee so you can choose what suits you best at that time. Need an instant perk-me-up? An espresso will do the trick. In need of a  dessert? An affogato will do more than satisfy.

5. Not Understanding People Who Don’t Like Coffee

Ever. How can people not like it? It just doesn’t make any sense. Oh well, that’s more coffee for me then.

6. Decaf Is An Abomination

Why even bother drinking coffee then? If there’s any lesson to learn here, it’s to not trust anybody who drinks decaf.

7. Developing A Caffeine Immunity

Face it, the caffeine barely works on you anymore. The bad news is you’ll probably need more than just a cup in the morning. The good news? Before-sleep coffees are now officially a thing. How great is that?

8. Bad Coffee Is Better Than None

You know how sometimes you’re ordering your meal and the cashier informs you of the faulty coffee machine? Or when you’re at a hawker centre and the uncle says he has only 3-in-1? Regardless of the situation, you’ll do anything to get your hands on your cuppa. Whether it is buying one from the café next door or taking the instant coffee, bad coffee is better than no coffee.

9. Being Warned Of Your Coffee Intake

“Aiyoh, how many cups have you drank?”

“Yah lor, don’t drink so much lah.”

And these are just some of the things you’ve heard from your non-understanding, non coffee addict, but nonetheless caring friends.

10. There’s. Never. Too. Much. Coffee

If you’ve been nodding to three or more of the above, you may love it just a little too much. Well as long as you’re not drinking eight cups a day every single day, we say there is nothing wrong with y’know, having a strong appreciation for this beverage.

Don’t be fooled into thinking this Bak Chor Mee spot has no queue, they have a queue number system so be prepared to wait up to an hour for a bowl here. Dishes at Macpherson Minced Meat Noodles are prepared individually and are crafted with springy noodles and stripes of braised pork belly and crispy lard. While the dish is amazing on its own get it with soup on the side, the rich pork broth is the perfect compliment to this popular local dish.

Nathan Hartono Clinches Silver At Sing! China 2016 – It’s Ok We Still Love You!

Nathan Hartono, our local representative managed to clinch silver in Sing! China 2016, one of the biggest talent competitions in China.

While Hartono managed to qualify for the finals, he lost to competitor Jiang Dunhao at the finals earlier tonight (Oct 7). Jiang, who is only 21, won the singing competition with 56.7 per cent of the votes.

For his finale performance, Hartono performed a moving rendition of Mavis Hee’s Moonlight in the City (Cheng Li De Yue Guang) followed by Anita Mui’s Nu Ren Hua as he took the stage earlier this evening.

The three month reality singing competition saw Hartono beating out thousands who auditioned for Sing! China to clinch the second position. Jay Chou, the reigning king of mando pop (at least to most of us!), who Hartono chose as his mentor added:

“People who usually sing my songs don’t end up very well. In the past, they have been eliminated. But I hope Hartono can break this curse.” 

The 25 year old’s first runner up position is also the highest any Singaporean has fared in the popular Chinese reality singing competition.

Nathan Hartono might not have clinched the gold at Sing! China 2016, but he’s definitely found a way into all our hearts!

15 Must Eat, Must Drink And Must Try Spots In Singapore!

1. Take A Hike @ MacRitchie Reservoir’s TreeTop Walk

Located in MacRitchie Reservoir, the TreeTop Walk (TTW) is first free-standing bridge in Singapore and in the region.  Connecting the two highest points (Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang) in MacRitchie, the TTW offers a bird’s eye view of the sprawling rainforest below! The total length of the walkway is about 250 m with the highest point at 25 m!

Get your hiking shoes ready because there are 2 main routes that will get you to the TTW. Both of which are moderately difficult to tackle. The shorter of the two route spans 7km and will take about you about 3-4 hours. Starting from Venus Drive, this route will take you through the northern and north-western part of MacRitchie Reservoir. The longer route spans an astounding 10km and will take you about 5 hours to tackle! However it’s the best route if you want to take in the whole MacRitchie as it takes you from the eastern side of MacRitchie right up to TTW!

A perfect weekend date if you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the TreeTopWalk lets you truly experience the natural wonder of Singapore’s rainforest! Best part? It’s free!

2. Bungee Jump @ AJ Hackett Sentosa

Great news for all adrenaline junkies out there, Sentosa is now home to Singapore’s first bungee tower! The bungee tower is part of AJ Hackett Sentosa. Set up by AJ Hackett International, this heart pounding recreational site is a 2,500 sq m adventure playground!

Standing at 14 storeys high with two high jump decks and a 40m long sky bridge, this bungee tower is not just about bungee jumping! There’s the Vertical Skywalk where you can scale the down the main tower’s shaft and the Giant Swings, which will have you flying through the air at 100km/h!

Not open until March 2017, AJ Hackett Sentosa will definitely be a must visit on our Singapore bucket list!

Just getting into this speakeasy bar is a monumental feat. At first glance The Library just seems to be an empty space filled with bookshelves, but this misleading facade is just step one into gaining entrance into The Library.

Guests then have to get the secret password before making their way into the actual bar! The password changes daily so you’ll either have to check their Facebook or head down to the adjunct restaurant, The Study to get it!

With drinks named after famous personalities like Marilyn Monroe and their drinks served to you in little bathtubs with little rubber ducks. It’s pretty hard not to love The Library!
