[caption id="attachment_20510" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Cucina POP[/caption]

Founded upon the principles of Cucina POP, which simultaneously means “for everyone” and “belonging to everyone”, the menu at FOO’D was conceptualized by Italian celebrity Chef Davide Oldani.

Chef owner of Michelin-starred D’O in Cornaredo, Italy, Oldani strives to blur the lines between fine dining with accessibility, and tradition with innovation.

Hazelnut And Lambrusco Sorbet Dessert

[caption id="attachment_20511" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Hazelnut and Lambrusco Sorbet Dessert[/caption]

Chef Davide Oldani’s hazelnut and lambrusco sorbet dessert is a testament to his creative culinary journey. Pairing hazelnut, lambrusco sorbet, and popcorn, this impeccable dessert showcases Oldani’s gift for intertwining complementary textures in his dishes.

The satisfying crunch of popcorn matches well with the refreshing and slightly sweet lambrusco sorbet. A unique and decadent culinary creation, this modern dessert is the perfect end to a decadent meal at FOO’D!

Oldani’s Marsala And Truffle Risotto

[caption id="attachment_20512" align="alignnone" width="750"] Decadent European fare[/caption]

Looking for something a tad more traditional?

Then Oldani’s risotto is a must-have!

Crafted with handmade sourdough breadcrumbs, peppercorn, Marsala and Umbrian truffle, the risotto has the rich creaminess of a perfectly cooked risotto.

With a dash of vinegar and the underlying touch of sweetness from the Marsala, Oldani’s risotto is an innovative culinary creation that is a must-have for any self-proclaimed food connoisseur.

[caption id="attachment_20514" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Chef Oldani’s pushes traditional culinary boundaries[/caption]

The sleek and modern interior that diners at FOO’D enjoy alongside their meal is also due in part to Oldani dabbling in industrial design.

Seeking to make every diners’ experience comfortable, Oldani has utilized innovative flatware such as wine glasses with one rim set higher than the other, allowing diners to not only fully appreciate the full bouquet of the wine but maintain eye contact with their partners as well. An overall elegant and comfortable dining experience, FOO’D puts diners’ needs at the forefront.

New Year’s Eve isn’t complete without a mouthwatering decadent feast. Tagged at $158++ and $188++ for its 5 and 7 course New Year’s Eve Dinner Menu, end your 2016 right with FOOD’s by Davide Oldani decadent feast.

So experience a culinary adventure with loved ones at FOO’D by Davide Oldani, as you indulge in modern European fare that pushes the boundaries and tantalizes the taste buds!

Cirque Adrenaline’s Death-Defying Acrobatic Acts Had Us Gasping “Oh My God” At Every Turn

Looking for an event to head to that will have you at the edge of your seat? Look no further because Cirque Adrenaline has arrived in Singapore and it’s got the crowd spell-bounded. From the producers behind acclaimed shows The Illusionists and Le Noir, Cirque Adrenaline showcases some of the most daring and death-defying acrobatic acts!

Cirque Adrenaline

[caption id="attachment_20068" align="alignnone" width="683"] Rolla Bolla[/caption]

Cirque Adrenaline’s troupe of over 30 performers is renowned for its theatrical flair and jaw-dropping acrobatic displays. We headed down to Cirque Adrenaline and we must admit, we were spellbound by the displays of strength, agility and sheer bravery.

Wheel Of Death

[caption id="attachment_20066" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Wheel Of Death[/caption]

The piece de resistance of Cirque Adrenaline had to be Wheel of Death, with two agile trapeze artists perched precariously on a structure hanging above the audience the Wheel Of Death had even us gasping with shock. By far our favourite act of the entire show, the Wheel of Death pushes the boundaries of high-risk stunts.

[caption id="attachment_20074" align="alignnone" width="680"] Duo Strap[/caption]

If you’re a fan of Cirque De Soleil, the Duo Strap might just be your favourite aeriel act. It was amazing how flexible and agile the performers were. Watching them move so gracefully and in tandem with such careful precision, made us mere mortals feel slightly more than clumsy!

Sphere of Fear

[caption id="attachment_20073" align="alignnone" width="1020"] Sphere of Fear[/caption]

Another Cirque Adrenaline act that will make it worth every cent spent is the Sphere of Fear. Once an act that was often witnessed at carnivals. This particular act sees a motorcyclists make 360 turns within a metal sphere. The feat is difficult and dangerous enough, but Cirque Adrenaline sets a whole standard for this high-risk stunt. With 3 motorcyclist making synchronised stunts missing each other by split seconds the Sphere of Fear was certainly a heart-pounding act worth catching.

[caption id="attachment_20071" align="alignnone" width="641"] Fire Act[/caption]

The Fire Act not only caught our attention, it also made us realise the sheer bravery, time and effort that goes behind every act during Cirque Adrenaline. The Fire Act saw fire-breathers twirling multiple rods of flames. If we doubted the authenticity of the flames, we were proven wrong when the smell of ash and flames filled the theatre.

Our ambassador Stephanie Ler headed down to Marina Bay Sands Mastercard Theatres to catch Cirque Adrenaline. This is what she had to say about the amazing acrobatic death-defying acts:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BOKAGonAT55/?taken-by=piinkmasquerade

[caption id="attachment_20067" align="alignnone" width="602"] Cirque Adrenaline Acrobats[/caption]

So if you’re keen to catch acrobatic acts that will push the boundaries of gravity (plus it’s fun for the whole family), head on down to Marina Bay Sands and catch Cirque Adrenaline! Not only will it keep you at the edge of your seat you’ll be amazed at the sheer grit and agility of the acrobatic performers.

TaoKaeNoi’s First S’pore Outlet Lets Us Get Our Seaweed Fix Without Flying To Thailand!

Back in primary school, seaweed snacks were by far the most popular tidbits to munch on. Not only was it small and easy to snack on it was also the cheapest thing you could buy (it was 10 cents back then!). Fast forward more than a decade and seaweed still remains one of most popular snacks we Singaporeans love to binge on.

TaoKaeNoi is now reknown for its Crispy Seaweed snack. Found in most supermarkets, it’s pretty addictive and they come in several flavours like Hot & Spicy and my own personal favourite Tempura!

TaoKaeNoi is so popular here in Singapore, they’ve decided to open their very first international TaeKaeNoil Land in Suntec City.

[caption id="attachment_19790" align="alignnone" width="750"] TaoKaeNoi’s Crispy Seaweed[/caption]

Stepping into the store, we were pleasantly surprised to see a wide range of flavours of TaoKaeNoi’s Crispy Seaweed. From the Wasabi (which can be found at your local supermarkets) to the super unique Peking Duck, the store was filled of floor to ceiling shelving chock full of TaoKaeNoi’s Crispy Seaweed.

If flavoured seaweed isn’t your cup of tea, TaoKaeNoi has brought their other products over to our shores. Look out for the iPlus seaweed, which consists of generous offerings of dried shrimp amongst thin strips of seaweed. Just slightly salty, the combination of the crunchy seaweed and dried shrimp actually brings out the salty-sea flavour of the seaweed.

[caption id="attachment_19796" align="alignnone" width="750"] Durian Flavoured Big Bang Grilled Seaweed[/caption]

While making our way round the outlet, we spotted Cheese flavoured Crispy Seaweed and even Durian! We had to try it out the Durian Big Bang Grilled Seaweed for ourselves, and we were surprised at the light taste. With just a hint of durian, it’s a ‘So Singaporean’ snack worth having a go!

[caption id="attachment_19803" align="alignnone" width="1000"] TaoKaeNoi Ramen[/caption]

Craving for something quick and filling? TaoKaeNoi is offering up their very own ramen, with flavours like Tom Yum, these ramen packs have TaoKaeNoi seaweed bits right in the broth!

Thai Treats

[caption id="attachment_19795" align="alignnone" width="750"] Thai Biscuit Sticks[/caption]

While the majority of the products in the store are TaoKaeNoi’s, TaoKaeNoi Land also carries other Thai treats. Coconut and banana flavoured coated biscuits are the perfect treat if you’re craving something slightly sweeter.

[caption id="attachment_19799" align="alignnone" width="1000"] Wholesome Nut Bars[/caption]

Not much of a sweet tooth? TaoKaeNoi also carries a range of healthier products. Nut bars are up for grabs if you need a quick pick me up but want a healthier option!

[caption id="attachment_19800" align="alignnone" width="1000"] Flavoured Lemongrass Teas[/caption]

And to wash all these sweet Thai treats down? Get your hands on the range of lemongrass teas. Infused with Pandan or Ginger, your afternoons are now set with these flavoured cups of tea.

[caption id="attachment_19802" align="alignnone" width="1000"] Flavoured Toffees[/caption]

Decadence takes a new meaning with the flavoured toffees that TaoKaeNoi Land carries. A unique twist that brings East and West together, these flavoured toffees come in Durian and Mangosteen. Wrapped in individual packaging, you’ll never fear the toffee losing its authentic taste!

TaoKaeNoi’s Online Facebook Game

[caption id="attachment_19804" align="alignnone" width="1000"] TaoKaeNoi App[/caption]

8 Singaporean Millennials Share With Us Messages They Wish They Could Tell Their Loved Ones

We Singaporeans are not an emotionless bunch (in spite of some polls saying otherwise). Yes, while we may not express our feelings openly, we Singaporeans actually do feel quite deeply.

We wanted to debunk the myth, so we had 8 millennials share with us their messages of love for the people who mean the most to them.

Messages that they wished to say, but could never pluck up the courage to.

1. ‘I am really grateful that she still loves me even though I may not have been the best brother in the world’

[caption id="attachment_19595" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Siblings[/caption]

I’m closest to my younger sister. Despite the 8 year age gap, we share a lot of common interests like basketball. Even though we don’t talk as much due to our life stages, she still comes to my room to “disturb” me once in awhile.

My favourite memory of my sister was when I was still a trainee in NS. It was my birthday and she sent a photo collage of my baby pictures with the words “Happy Birthday” through text. She was in primary school back then and even though the compilation wasn’t the most aesthetically-pleaseing, it was the effort and the act of thinking about me that made me feel grateful.

I would love to tell her how much I really appreciate her. I am really grateful that she still loves me even though I may not have been the best brother in the world.

2. ‘It was the last time we were together while he was still alive.’

[caption id="attachment_19597" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Family[/caption]

I’m an only child so I’ve always been close to my parents. We have different dynamics between us all, but I love them in their own special way.

When I had my bad breakup, they were there for me like silent pillars of support, and had their own way of showing that they cared.

My mum is the chatty type, so she talked to me and made sure I was ok at all times. My dad doesn’t speak as much, but he gave me the peace that I wanted, and kept everything to a status quo so I’ll get out of the rut faster.

I would like them to know that I love them very much, and that I will miss them terribly if they’re gone.

They taught me what love means, and have provided for me so selflessly through the years.

[caption id="attachment_19601" align="alignnone" width="736"] Brother & Sister[/caption]

I’ve grown up in a very close-knit family, but I’m closest to my brother. We don’t get to spend much time together because we’re both busy working but we love catching up in front of the TV. Something I really admire about him is his confidence and his sincerity for those he loves!

He’s my role model and when I see a man, I hope he is at least 50% of what my brother is, because I doubt I can find someone exactly like him!

6. ‘Thank you for being there for me when I had nowhere to go’

[caption id="attachment_19600" align="alignnone" width="650"] pbenjay.blogspot.com[/caption]

I’m the closest to my brother, he’s always motivating me to do better.

When I do silly things, like fighting with my parents, he makes me see where I’m wrong. But he also supports me when I’m right.

I really admire his success and hard work. He did a full time job while working on his new business. He’s an entrepreneur and financial assistant now.

Thanks for being a great older brother. I couldn’t have asked for a better one.

Thanks for all your pep talks. I may not say it but they’ve helped me see things clearer.

What If We Told You, You’ve Been Choosing Your Christmas Gifts Wrong All Along?

Let’s be honest, while we Singaporeans love Christmas (the lights, the food, the endless parties and get-togethers!), picking out the perfect gifts for family and friends can be pretty tough.

We can readily admit that pinning down that unique, extra special and thoughtful gift for a loved one is no easy feat.

Chances are, after hours of searching and walking up and down Orchard Road, you would have settled for the typical gift sets, hampers and bags of sweet treats to give out to family, friends and colleagues (don’t even try to deny it)!
