10. Bojio Cafe
We didn’t expect to find this gem in the heart of Tampines.
The quirkily named cafe allows families and friends to jio (invite) each other for a healthy desserts!

Their homemade ice-creams, waffles and toasts are friendly to the very young, very old, as well as health-conscious friends.
The story behind its founding is all too relatable. Mr Chan, the star chef, and Mrs Chan’s picky family members love hunting for dessert spots all over Singapore.
Inspired to open a shop of their own, they created a DIY ice cream recipe, purchased the machinery and ingredients required, and never looked back.
All their hand-made ice-cream contains reduced sugar, children friendly milk/cream, no preservatives or colouring and only fresh fruits.
Don’t say bojio, and drop by for something sweet!

We dropped in on Central Perk SG, and we must say, it takes the idea of a themed cafe to the next level.

Friends fans will defo go crazy for this cafe’s interior. We were impressed by how it had the Central Perk Cafe cut right down to the tiniest detail.
While there, we also had a good laugh trying out their edible helium balloons, the latest addition to their extensive themed menu.

You’ll find familiar dishes on the menu, such as the crab and caviar angel hair pasta. Must-tries are the deep fried camembert dessert, 12-hour braised short ribs, and The Egg–a silky egg custard served with spoonfuls of salmon roe and flying fish roe, alongside crispy house chips and hazelnut butter.

2. Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park
Located in the Central Highlands area of Tasmania, the Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park is part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.

4. Eaglehawk Neck
About an hour’s drive south of Hobart, arrive at the small coastal town of Eaglehawk Neck. It is so named because of the narrow strip of land known as the Neck.

The southern lights is definitely a one-of-a-kind natural phenomenon that deserves much more attention than it does now. Compared to the northern lights, putting an aurora australis Tasmanian holiday in place is better, because:
- you don’t have to travel far from Singapore to see it. Tasmania is just a 9-hour flight away.
- the southern lights is more vibrant, boasting more colours than the usual green and red!
- although the best time to see the lights is during winter, the southern lights can be viewed all year round in convenient locations around Tasmania, if you are lucky.
- the temperature in Tasmania during winter is much more bearable than northern lights destinations. So no need to dig deep into your savings for extreme winter wear clothing!

Too many choices and can’t decide what to eat? We highly recommend Geylang Lor 9 Fresh Frog Porridge, Newton Circus Ahmad Ibrahim Satay, Boon Tat Street BBQ Seafood and Odeon Beef Noodles. If you prefer a lighter meal (save that stomach for dessert!), do try local delicacies such as the kaya toast, fresh popiah, fried oysters, and traditional Chinese pastries at Tong Heng Confectionary.
5. Play Chess / People Watch At Chinatown Complex
It is not unusual to see residents and senior citizens battling rounds of Chinese Chess as a recreational activity just outside Chinatown Complex. Despite the ‘heated competition’, these uncles are always throwing good-natured banter, filling the place with laughter. We can’t recommend this place more if people watching is your thing. Also, you’re more than welcome to spectate a cerebral game of Chinese Chess and pick up a tactic or two.

Soek Seng 1954 may be the newest bike cafe on the block, but cafe owner Uncle Joo is not an unfamiliar face to cycling enthusiasts in Singapore. Known as “The Collector”, Uncle Joo boasts a collection of over 100 beautiful vintage bikes. Lucky for us, some of those classic models are displayed in this cafe!

1. Bombard yourself with artworks
First of all, you should tell yourself that the visit itself will be worthwhile, because the Gallery features over 8,000 works from the 19th and 20th centuries. On top of that too, the architecture of the National Gallery would be a sight to behold too: it represents an old-meets-modern architecture, as it was constructed by combining the former City Hall and the former Supreme Court, two of Singapore’s most significant National Monuments.

What most might not know about the National Gallery is that it also houses the Keppel Centre for Art Education, a first dedicated art education facility of its kind in South East Asia. These interactive spaces at the National Gallery were designed by artists to introduce art to young audiences in fun and meaningful ways, making the place suitable for the entire family. So other than hanging out with your friends, you can also embrace your inner child at the National Gallery!

Finally, the National Gallery is open for free admission to anyone, but only until the 6th of December 2015! After the 6th, while admission to the buildings is free, admission to all exhibition galleries requires a ticket.
