The 4 flavours are Mixed Bowl ($15.80), Chicken Bowl ($13.80), Prawn Bowl ($13.80) and Vegetable Bowl ($11.80).

Our ambassador Rachael headed there for a taste.

She tried the Mixed Bowl, which had everything she could’ve asked for. She really loved the prawn tempura, chicken tempura and the green pepper, which were all so juicy under the crisp tempura crust!

The Bridge Bistro & Beacon Bar is a seafront bistro located at RSYC, Asia’s oldest yacht club.

Our ambassadors Nicholas and Stephanie got to chill out at this lovely little bar and bistro.

They were spoiled for choice – the newly revamped menu included a more comprehensive selection of yummy mains.

The beautifully plated dishes also made the whole meal experience a feast for the eyes as much as it was for the belly.

The bar will also be updating their drinks menu really soon, in particular to lower prices.

So come and grab a drink with your friends and family! Here, you won’t have to worry about burning a hole in your pocket!

From the moment the DiscoverSG team stepped in, we were taken with the lively, boisterous crowd, the communal cooking over steamboat bowls and BBQ grills, and the cheerful eating of family and friends.

Here, you can choose from 6 different soup bases: Mala, Tom Yum, Tomato, Chicken, Salted Veggie and Pork Bone.

We went with the house special, Mala soup, as well as Chicken soup. The main reason why we ordered the chicken soup was so we had a simple soup base that would allow us to properly appreciate the freshness of the ingredients served here.

Hao Lai Wu provides its customers with a wide range of fresh ingredients, sides, and sauces. It prides itself in its authentic Chinese cuisine, from the spices they put into their Mala soups to the drinks they import directly from China.

We settled down on the re-purposed oil drums and found that they came with detachable seat covers you could lift, to reveal a storage space for your bags or any knick-knacks you were carrying! With your belongings safely stowed away, the only thing you need to focus on is the mouthwatering food before you!

We were given an incredibly warm welcome with a crazy influx of dishes.

And I mean a TON, because when all the food was brought out, this was what our table looked like:

Someone even cooked an omelette for us on the spot as the food was on its way out! Filled with delicious, juicy sprigs of green onion, red chillis, and tiny morsels of mock crab meat, we loved every last bite of it.

Being able to eat with a whole group of people, cooking and serving one another for 2-3 hours straight, and being given 3 different ways to cook your food (Mala steamboat, Chicken steamboat and BBQ), this is definitely a great place to gather with family, loved ones and friends.

As we said our goodbyes with expanded tummies and hearts, we left with 3 takeaways:

1. Come to Hao Lai Wu HUNGRY. You won’t survive if you’re simply peckish.

2. The Mala is truly delicious, and will leave you sweating as you reach for more.

3. The Mala soup should only be attempted by spicy food lovers. If you’re afraid of McDonald’s chilli sauce, you may want to pass on the Mala.

This signature dish consists of the OG black food, squid ink pasta, tossed with a generous amount of crayfish, scallops, prawns, clams, and squid. The pasta is infused with the natural taste of the sea from the squid ink, and the sauce is briny and flavourful. While squid ink pasta is not hard to find across our little island, this is one of the better squid ink pastas you can get in Singapore.

To beat the heat, come to the dark side with KokoPanda’s black frozen yoghurt, made with charcoal and roasted coconut husk.

It’s a tangy, refreshing and absolutely yummy alternative to ice cream. What’s more, it’s also a much healthier choice as it comes topped with superfoods. These include dried strawberry, apple, pear, persimmon and Jeju tangerine, as well as caviar bubbles made with real fruit juice.

A single topping with the base froyo will cost $4.90, while a froyo with 3 toppings will cost $5.90, with additional toppings priced at $0.80 each.

Pancake Burgers Are The Latest Food Mashup In S’pore And We Are All Flippin’ Out

Here in Singapore, we have seen our fair share of food mashups. These include the “cronut”, a croissant and donut hybrid, the sushi burrito (self-explanatory), as well as the pizza waffle, to name a few.

Now, Tiong Bahru Bakery unveils their latest creation–pancake burgers–as part of their new Raffles City outlet dinner menu.

The creative folks at Tiong Bahru Bakery have whipped up 3 types of pancake burgers for you to sink your teeth into.

They recommend the PB & B Pancake Burger ($23) which has smoky spiced pork belly sandwiched between a stack of fluffy pancakes. The pancakes have maple syrup drizzled over them, with a generous helping of salted caramel, caramelised bananas, and peanuts to add some crunch.

If you prefer something savoury, The Kim Cheesy Pancake Burger ($23) is the dish for you. It tastes and resembles an okonomiyaki with its bonito flakes and lettuce toppings. The savoury kimchi pancakes in this unique creation are complemented with a tofu patty that is drenched with a sweet bean sauce. Pick this if you want a lighter option to the PB & B Burger.

Another item worth trying is the No Fuss Chicken Fusilli ($19). While this is a relatively common dish in many restaurants, Tiong Bahru Bakery checks all of our boxes with their well seasoned pasta, coupled with tender chicken thigh ragu. This will definitely be included in our list of comfort foods after a tiring day at work.

Located at such a central location and with such well executed dishes, Tiong Bahru Bakery is going to be our go-to option for dinner gatherings!

Be mesmerised by one of her infinity mirror rooms, let your inner child come alive among her trademark dots and pumpkin motifs, and check out the paintings in which 87-year-old Kusama pushes the envelope on her art.

Dawn’s absolute favourite was their Bourbon infused liver mousse. It was paired with yuzu marmalade for a sweet kick of flavour, and fried mantou for that extra crunch!

2. Sister Act

If there’s one thing we can’t pass up, it’s a good laugh.

That’s why we were elated to hear that Broadway’s Sister Act had arrived on our shores!

This comedy-musical features a wannabe diva who witnessed a murder, and who then had to be hidden in a convent for protection.

They got to savour all kinds of unique cocktails, like Tiger Milk’s fruity strawberry-passionfruit cocktail, and Operation Dagger’s toffee apple cocktail.

What excited them the most though, was ANTZ, an exotic cocktail at Native Bar, which comes garnished with actual ants.

6. Baywatch Preview

We’ve been waiting on our toes for Baywatch to come out in Singapore, just so we can catch Zac Efron in action, in all his shirtless glory.

IKEA Extends Shopping And Dining Hours Till 12MN This Ramadhan – Adds Halal Buffets To Menu

IKEA is a name that needs no introduction.

For $20 per pax, an IKEA Family member and 3 guests will be able to feast on a never ending supply of IKEA’s famed meatballs! Tickets are only available for purchase at the IKEA restaurant, so you’ll have to head down early to secure a spot!
