Prodigal Roasters Has The Most Bizarre Cheese Tart Flavors To Complement Their Seasonal Coffee Menu
Prodigal Roasters pride themselves on their own roasted beans, which differ every single month as they are constantly getting in new beans from all over the world.
But we think its the ultimate pairing of their freshly brewed coffee and interesting bizarre cheese tart flavors that got to us.
[caption id="attachment_29808" align="alignnone" width="1170"] Freshly roasted (Image Credit: Prodigal Roasters)[/caption]Their bizarre cheese tarts somehow works
Get this, their bestseller is a Miso Cheese Tart, which tastes as delicious as it sounds bizarre. The miso caramel sauce is drizzled over a creamy cheese tart before its served. The sauce is kind of similar to salted caramel, but miso-style.
[caption id="attachment_29782" align="alignnone" width="640"] Tart’s up! (Image Credit: Natalie Wong via Burpple)[/caption]If you prefer your tarts to be on the chocolate-y side, go for their Rocky Road Tart. The thick and fudge-like chocolate is slightly bittersweet (it uses dark chocolate), and is full of crunchy nuts and chewy marshmallow.
Another interesting one to try is the Sweet Potato Tart, which is mixed with chocolate and tinged with the mellow sweetness from the sweet potato.
On a superfood diet? Get the Acai Cheese Tart.
[caption id="attachment_29783" align="alignnone" width="730"] Superfoods in desserts so that you don’t abandon your diet. (Image Credit: Xing Wei Chua via Burpple)[/caption]Classic flavors like lemon meringue and creme brûlée are also on the menu if you want to play it safe.
Something more substantial?
Prodigal Roasts started out selling tarts, but have since expanded to selling hearty mains in limited portions. Just like everything else, the menu is not fixed, so there’s no saying what you’ll get.
The chefs at Prodigal Roasters are very open to ideas from customers, which results in pretty unusual dishes. If you really want to be kept updated on their latest food creations, follow their Instagram!
Just a couple weeks ago, they had an interesting burnt cream pasta, which comes topped with pomegranate, one week old fermented onions, capers, celery and dusted with coffee grounds. Your tastebuds will be working overtime!
[caption id="attachment_29773" align="alignnone" width="1080"] Coffee in pasta? (Image Credit: Prodigal Roasters)[/caption]The only drawback is that these creations are not permanent fixtures on the menu (even though we think they deserve to be), but don’t be afraid to ask the chefs to whip something up on the spot.
They’ll try their best to oblige, although this is not always possible as they might not have the ingredients on hand.
Journey all over the world with their seasonal roasts
The guys at Prodigal Roasts love experimenting with their coffees as much as they love experimenting with their foods.
You can expect new coffee flavors every month as they are constantly trying out new bean profiles from all over the world. Taste coffees from Papua New Guinea, Brazil, Ethiopia, Thailand, Rwanda and more.
[caption id="attachment_29809" align="alignnone" width="1080"] Bring home some beans! (Image Credit: Prodigal Roasters)[/caption]They also sell freshly roasted beans if you can’t get enough of your brew. Get some beans so that you can make your own cuppa whenever the cravings hit you.
Whether you’re a coffee lover or just want to try something new this cafe is definitely worth a trip to the heartlands for!

2. Watch Lau Pa Sat transform into a fashion runway
Lau Pa Sat, our favourite CBD makan spot, will turn the heat up during the F1 weekend (and not because of excessive orders for satay and chicken wings).

(Image Credit: Sarah Reid/ Lonely Planet)[/caption]Heineken will be presenting their own fashion collection on a catwalk for the first time in Asia! Former F1 racer David Coulthard will also be making an appearance at the show which features the latest pieces from the collections of local designers Sabrina Goh and Amos Ananda.

But you can always indulge a little by hopping aboard the GP roving truck for a chance at taking on the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
If you didn’t catch the race car simulator at its various pop-ups, your last chance to try it out will be this weekend at Ang Mo Kio Hub. Time to get your a

If you are one of those who don’t really care for racing or partying, this one’s for you. All weekend from 15 to 17 September, bus and train services will be extended by about half an hour.
Four bus services – 222, 222G, 181 and 243G – will also be extended. You can finally say yes to one more round!
There you have it. Just because you are too poor to afford concert tickets to go watch OneRepublic or Calvin Harris, there are still plenty of ways for you to enjoy the F1 weekend. You don’t have to empty your wallet to have a good time!

This Cafe’s Unique Éclairs Will Have You Choux-ing Them Over And Over Again
When you think of éclairs, a cream-filled pastry with chocolate icing probably comes to mind.
Made the same way in pretty much every bakery that sells its, there’s a cafe in Singapore that’s re-energising the pastry, one unexpected flavour at a time.
[caption id="attachment_29568" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Image Credit: Burpple User Cassie Ong[/caption]L’éclair is Singapore’s first éclair specialty store and cafe. Set up by a duo that was trained at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, the two are all about discovering and expanding the possibilities of the éclair.
Their inventive handcrafted éclairs are not only an exquisite treat for the tastebuds, they’re also extremely easy on the eyes and look great on the ‘gram.
Located at Dhoby Gaut, this cafe is a short 5 minute walk from Dhoby Gaut MRT Station.
A Taste Of Paris
While L’éclair has created quite a variety of éclairs to date, you’ll find that they only serve 10 flavours each day – a blessing, considering that you’ll have enough trouble picking just one to eat.
[caption id="attachment_29572" align="aligncenter" width="1022"] Kaya Pandan Éclair (Image Credit: @leclairpatisserie)[/caption]One day, you’ll find a Kaya Pandan Éclair, a fancy twist on Singaporeans’ favourite breakfast toast; and another, you’ll find a Baileys Cheesecake Éclair that’s filled with baileys pastry cream, topped with baileys cheesecake cream, and drizzled with baileys ganache for good measure – a triple hit of the delicious Irish cream liqueur.
[caption id="attachment_29752" align="aligncenter" width="762"] Ispahan Éclair (Image Credit: @leclairpatisserie)[/caption]Some of the customers’ favourites here include the Ispahan, a pretty pink éclair filled with a light rose cream, cut lychees and fresh raspberries. Another beaut is the Matcha flavour, which comprises a smooth, premium matcha cream and white chocolate – a match made in dessert heaven.
Made using only the finest and freshest ingredients, you get all your money’s worth off these éclairs that are priced between $8 – $9 each.
A Mid-Autumn Special
Limited edition flavours are not unusual for the creative team at L’éclair.
To celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival, they’ve created 3 brand new flavours: Salted egg yolk lotus, black sesame red bean, and taro macadamia.

Puzzles, a cafe that serves up pizza bombs and other snacks, was started by two Ngee Ann Polytechnic graduates, Suzana Slemat and Shazlina Sulaiman, who wanted to shed some light on the struggles that deaf people face when interacting with service staff.

The sign language guide and discount helps encourage interaction between the hearing impaired the regular customers.
While majority of customers are students and school staff, there are also regulars from the deaf community who enjoy visiting the cafe because of the servers who speak the same language. It seems like word has gotten out!

10 Quirky Mooncakes That Break Tradition With Flavours Like Bubble Tea, Chilli And Salted Egg Yolk
As Mid-Autumn Festival rolls around, it’s once again time to binge on mooncakes!
While we love a good traditional lotus paste mooncake, we have to admit, it’s the novel, intriguingly flavoured mooncakes that tend to grab our attention – and this year, there are plenty of these out there.
Alcoholic mooncakes, ice cream mooncakes, ‘liu sha‘ mooncakes… The list goes on.
Here are some of the most outrageously untraditional mooncakes we could find, and we think you’ll be hard pressed to pick just one to try.
1. Mandarin Orchard – Red Wine Cranberry Paste With Japanese Yuzu and Lemongrass
Alcoholics, now you can even get your buzz from mooncakes!
[caption id="attachment_29486" align="aligncenter" width="1000"] Mini snow skin mooncakes from Mandarin Orchard[/caption]Mandarin Orchard‘s range of Mini Snow Skin Mooncakes includes two boozy flavours – Lychee Martini And Chocolate, and Red Wine Cranberry Paste With Japanese Yuzu and Lemongrass.
The Lychee Martini And Chocolate Mooncake releases a burst of crisp, citrusy chocolate into your mouth with every bite, while the Red Wine Cranberry Paste With Japanese Yuzu and Lemongrass Mooncake leaves a lasting impression as each mouthful reveals yet another layer of subtle flavour.
Mandarin Orchard Singapore Ain’t nobody got time for old school mooncakes when there are alcoholic snow skin mooncakes to be eaten. Grand Hyatt is adding a new creation to their growing list of alcohol infused mooncakes: Violette & Gin, which comes infused with Tanquert No. Ten Gin and a crème de violette liquor for a delicate, floral twist. Another must-try is the Strawberry-Lime-Tequila Truffle, a fruity yet intense mooncake with a kick. Their snow skin mooncakes are available at $69 for a box of eight. Grand Hyatt Singapore Can a person get drunk on mooncakes? Probably not. But that’s not going to stop us from trying all the alcoholic mooncakes out there. Bakerzin‘s Prestige Collection ($56) will make your inner alcoholic rejoice, with four different spirits to try. Each box comes with two pieces each of Apple Vodka Snow Skin, Butterscotch Baileys Snow Skin, Coconut Liqueur Snow Skin, and Latte Kahlua Snow Skin mooncakes. You won’t even know where to start! Bakerzin Old Seng Choong may be well-known for its old school bakes and cakes, but head pastry chef, Daniel Tay, definitely knows how to take things up a notch.

Website4. Old Seng Choong – Cranberries With Choya
Old Seng Choong While it seems like everyone is trying to one up each other in terms of who can come up with the most outrageous, most unexpected mooncake filling, we think Shangri-La‘s ones take the cake.
Address:#05-04, 171 Kampong Ampat, KA Foodlink, Singapore 368330
Contact.: 6282 0220
5. Shangri-La – Yuzu Bird’s Nest
The first is the more typical Chocolate Salted Toffee, which comes encased in a layer of crisp milk chocolate – perfect for sweet tooths. The other is a more luxurious and interesting blend of Yuzu Bird’s Nest that is both tangy and sweet. Who knew bird’s nest would go well with a mooncake?
Shangri-La Singapore If you love bubble tea and have $17.20 to spare, try The Pine Garden‘s Pearl Milk Tea Snow Skin, which is infused with tea, and comes with bits of chewy boba. Yum!

7. Thye Moh Chan – Chef’s Private XO Recipe
Go old school, but with a twist with Thye Moh Chan‘s traditional Teochew-style mooncakes.
Teochew mooncakes typically see a sweet filling encased in a flaky crust pastry, unlike the baked skin mooncakes we typically see during mooncake festival.
[caption id="attachment_29507" align="aligncenter" width="1000"] Thye Moh Chan’s secret recipe with XO sauce[/caption]They come with various fillings, including an all-new Chef’s Private XO Recipe ($40.80 for four pieces), a Salty Tau Sar With Egg Yolk ($29.80 for four pieces) and the Teochew Mooncake ($18.80 for one piece), which uses a traditional recipe of maltose, citrus strips and five-spice powder.
Although we were at first unsure about how XO sauce would fare in a mooncake, the Chef’s Private XO Recipe completely won our hearts and was a favourite in the office! Unlike most of the mooncakes listed here, these ones lean towards the savoury side, with delicate hints of har cheong (shrimp paste) that is simply addicting.
Thye Moh Chan also has a Mao Shan Wang Durian mooncake ($40.80 for four pieces), which infuses durian and mung bean paste.
Thye Moh Chan It only makes sense for a bakery famous for its cheesecakes to create cheesecake-filled snow skin mooncakes – and they’re actually quite legit.

8. Cat & The Fiddle – Cream Cheese Mooncakes
The Cow Jumped Over The Moon-cake selection from Cat & The Fiddle features 4 different flavours filled with cream cheese and lotus paste.
The mooncakes come in a Blueberry Cream Cheese and Lotus Paste with White Chocolate and Dried Cranberry Truffle, an Oreo Cream Cheese and Lotus Paste with Dark Chocolate Truffle, a Strawberry Cream Cheese and Lotus Paste with Mint and White Chocolate Martini Truffle, and a Chocolate Cream Cheese and Lotus Paste with Orange Vodka and Dark Chocolate Truffle.
Each flavour has a personality of its own, with some of them even containing hints of alcohol! You can order the mooncakes online, or by phone at 6287 0077.

This Bakery Makes Millennial Lao Po Bings With Flavors Like Tokyo Banana, Thai Milk Tea And More
If you frequently travel to Thailand, you’ll probably have heard of or seen April’s Bakery around.
With 60 outlets scattered across the country, their home-made pies are now available in Singapore not just in Tampines, but also in the CBD. Located at the bustling food hall at the basement of One Raffles Place, this branch is much more accessible to those of us who, well, don’t live in the extreme east of Singapore.
[caption id="attachment_29516" align="alignnone" width="1484"] April’s Bakery at One Raffles Place[/caption]While April’s Bakery has its roots in Thailand, their pies are unmistakably Cantonese at heart. Bearing some similarity to the traditional Wife Cake, or lao po bing, April’s Bakery puts its own spin on the pie by switching up its flavours and fillings!
Think Thai Milk Tea, Matcha Latte, Tokyo Banana, Sweet Potato… The list goes on.
[caption id="attachment_29454" align="aligncenter" width="958"] Flavors from top to bottom: Thai Milk Tea, Taro, Matcha, Tokyo Banana, Purple Potato (Image Credit: @oo_foodielicious)[/caption]Some of their pies come filled with a tasty paste and custard combo, while others have a purely paste filling.
Priced at at just $2, these affordable pies are perfect for breakfast or a midday snack when you get a case of the munchies.
The Story Of April’s Bakery
The original April’s Bakery in Thailand started out as a small, obscure bakery in Central Plaza Ratchada-Rama III shopping centre. Selling cakes, biscuits and pastries, its founder, Nathanaporn Euawanthanakhun, started baking pies after discovering a love for roast pork pies during a trip to Hong Kong.
[caption id="attachment_29517" align="alignnone" width="1484"] April’s Bakery Pies[/caption]That inspired her to come up with her own signature pie recipe, which eventually led her to expand her range to include flavours like Taro, Custard and Matcha Latte. To date, the bakery has over 30 pie flavours in Thailand, including both sweet and savoury varieties!
Pies For Every Preference
Unfortunately for us, April’s Bakery’s Singapore outlets currently only sell their sweet pies.
The signature flavour at April’s Bakery is Thai Milk Tea. Filled with a mixture of custard and paste, fans of Thai milk tea will likely enjoy this pie that’s rich and creamy, without being overly sweet.
Other custard-paste pies include the Matcha Latte, Custard and the Singapore-exclusive Tokyo Banana. Not available even in Thailand, this is hands down one of our favourites of the lot.
[caption id="attachment_29518" align="alignnone" width="4233"] April’s Bakery pies all cut up![/caption]Some favourites among the health-conscious (and apparently, the gym-going crowd at One Raffles Place) are the Pumpkin and Sweet Potato pies that come with no added sugar. While much more subdued in flavour, the natural sweetness of Pumpkin and Sweet Potato really come through in these pies.
Durian lovers, here’s another durian-flavoured pastry to add to your must-try list. The latest flavour to hit the shelves at April’s Bakery, these will surely not disappoint.
[caption id="attachment_29456" align="alignnone" width="1180"] durian season should be all year round (Image Credit: @aprilbakerysg)[/caption]While most of these pies are best enjoyed warm, we were told that you can also enjoy the custard-paste pies cold – and even with a scoop of ice cream!
If you’re working in the CBD area and are ever feeling peckish, grab one of April’s Bakery’s delicious pies. With such a wide variety of flavours, it’ll take you a while to work your way through all the pies to figure out which ones are your favourites.
Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet, something healthy, or something to fill you up, April’s Bakery got just the thing!

Singaporeans, Here’s What Your Go-To Hawker Food Says About You
It’s no secret that we Singaporeans love our food. We will queue for them, travel for them, pay for them; we will go to any lengths to get ahold of the foods we love.
While we’re always on the lookout for the next big food craze, we’ll admit, there’s a special place in our hearts for our very own local delicacies – our messy, greasy plates of char kway teow, our savoury, vinegary bowls of bak chor mee, our deliciously sinful, spicy bowls of laksa…
Most of us have a go-to local dish – the dish we head straight for when we’re in a food court; the one we miss when we’re out of the country; the dish we absolutely cannot imagine our lives without.
Whatever your go-to may be, it reveals plenty about you. Here’s what your go-to Singaporean food says about you:
1. Yong Tau Fu
[caption id="attachment_29446" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] Yong Tau Fu from Ding Hao Yong Tau Fu (Image Credit: Deliveroo)[/caption]You’re either someone who is very health conscious, or someone who likes to feel like you’re making at least some healthy choices in your life. You can be a picky eater, and when ordering food online, you will browse through the entire Deliveroo catalogue until you find something that perfectly suits your mood.
You like feeling like you’re in control at work, at home, and in life in general. You’re careful, meticulous, and reliable. You prefer to err on the side of caution and more often than not, you stick with the safer option.
2. Chicken Rice
[caption id="attachment_29447" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] Chicken Rice from Buffet Town (Image Credit: Deliveroo)[/caption]You like your food like you like your days – good, but in a safe, predictable kind of way. You are a creature of habit and you truly believe you can eat chicken rice every single day.
You take great comfort in routine and familiarity, and you are faithful and loyal to the people and the things you love. You are simple, easy-going, and you don’t sweat the small things.
3. Laksa
[caption id="attachment_29448" align="aligncenter" width="1431"] Image Credit: AspirantSG[/caption]You live for a bit of risk. You’re adventurous, fiery and passionate. You say go big when others say play it safe. You’re always jio-ing your friends to try cool new eateries with you and you’re often drawn to the most unusual items on the menu.
The Deliveroo catalogue is like a playground to you, and you often have a hard time nailing down what to eat, and where you should even order from. Novelty and things that are outrageous excite you, and you constantly seek out these experiences in your life.
4. Bak Chor Mee
[caption id="attachment_29449" align="aligncenter" width="1192"] Bak Chor Mee from Yammee Teochew Fishball Noodles (Image Credit: Deliveroo)[/caption]You’re someone with very particular tastes. With food and with every other aspect of your life, you know exactly what you want, and you will go out of your way to get it. You have your go-to pick for everything from the supermarket, to the place you do your hair, to the app you use to order your food. If Deliveroo is your go-to, there’s a good chance you’re sticking with it till the end of time.
While you do get distracted once in a while, you always remember to get back on track – that’s just the laser-focused kind of person that you are.
5. Char Kway Teow
[caption id="attachment_29450" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Image Credit: Burpple[/caption]Your favoute phrase is ‘treat yo’self’ and you whip it out as often as you can. You love indulging in the things that make you happy and you couldn’t care less what others have to say about it. You’re independent, smart, sassy, and have a mind of your own. Whether it’s bubble tea, pasta, or Chinese food, your Deliveroo order is always at least a little bit different from the rest – and you take pride in that individuality.
Aside from the ones closest to you, what others say or think about you and your decisions don’t faze you. When your mind is made up, there’s no stopping you.

[caption id="attachment_29451" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Image Credit: Malay Mail Online[/caption]You’re an impatient character and you want your food, chop chop, right now. You don’t ask for your food to be amazing – decent is good enough. While you’re normally quite sui bian when it comes to food, you like to spoil yourself once in a blue moon. That’s when you go all out, ordering all the delicious grub you’ve heard and read about.
That said, food is not where your passion lies. You prefer to spend your time, effort, and energy improving yourself, nurturing your interests, or on your work; these are the things that give your life meaning, and you pour yourself wholeheartedly into them.
7. Roti Prata
[caption id="attachment_29452" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Roti Prata from Casuarina Curry (Image Credit: Burpple)[/caption]You’re the life of the party. You have plenty of close friends, and you’re the person everyone calls (or texts) to talk to in the middle of the night. You’re outgoing, extroverted, a little bit cray, and you believe in making good memories over food.
To you, both with food and with people, the more, the merrier. You’re always that person who orders extra sides to share – and you’re happy to pay for it too. You’re all about having a good time, and your infectious energy never fails to light up the whole room.
Were your food “readings” accurate?

Lady M Created A Light-Up Lantern For Its Mooncakes, Because Boxes Are So Mainstream
As August draws to a close, it means two things – Halloween is coming, but before that, Mid-Autumn Festival.
That means breaking out the paper lanterns, sparklers, and of course, mooncakes.
This year, so many brands are putting out their own spin on the traditional delicacy. Some are sticking to tradition with classic mooncakes with lotus paste, white lotus paste or red bean paste; others are breaking tradition with alcoholic mooncakes, cheesecake mooncakes, ice cream mooncakes, and more.
[caption id="attachment_29409" align="aligncenter" width="1034"] Image Credit: Lady M[/caption]With brands from the usual hotels to Mr Bean hawking their own versions of the confection, it takes something truly special to pierce through the competition – and we think Lady M‘s version takes the (moon)cake!
Snowskin Mooncakes In A Grand Lantern
This Mid-Autumn Festival, Lady M will be selling sets of 4 snowskin mooncakes, which will be available in 2 flavours: Cranberry Cheese White Chocolate Truffle and Peanut Butter Chocolate Truffle.
[caption id="attachment_29410" align="aligncenter" width="960"] Snowskin Mooncake – Cranberry Cheese (Image Credit: Lady M)[/caption]While these flavours sound completely non-traditional, don’t worry, the people at Lady M haven’t completely thrown tradition out the window.
The mooncakes, which come in pink and white respectively, are filled with white lotus paste, with a luxurious chocolate truffle core that’s filled with either cranberry cream cheese or smooth creamy peanut butter.
[caption id="attachment_29411" align="aligncenter" width="960"] Snowskin Mooncake – Peanut Butter (Image Credit: Lady M)[/caption]Each mooncake bears Lady M’s trademark “M”, embossed in place of the usual Mandarin characters or flowers.
While the mooncakes are special in and of themselves, their packaging is what’s won our hearts – these mooncakes are housed in a gorgeous lantern!
Limited Edition Lanterns
At first glance, you’ll see a pretty pink lantern, but only upon closer inspection will you see the intricacies of its design.
Battery-lit from the inside, you’ll notice the sides of the lantern are actually three dimensional windows. You’ll even spot tiny silhouettes of people having tea! The whole lantern resembles an ornate building, with pretty windows, columns, and Lady M’s “M” weaved seamlessly into its design.
[caption id="attachment_29412" align="aligncenter" width="861"] Image Credit: Lady M[/caption]Coming with a dainty, metallic chain attached for carrying around, lift the top piece and you’ll find the four mooncakes stacked one on top of the other!
Super pretty, this is far from your typical mooncake box or tin.
“M” For Mooncake
The Grand Lantern Mooncakes will only be available till 1 October 2017, and will be available in limited quantities, so make an order quickly!
Priced at $109.50 per box (set of 4 mooncakes), make an order by 3 September and you can also enjoy an early-bird price of $99.50.
Thinking of sending mooncakes to friends or family, but have no idea which mooncakes to buy? With such pretty packaging, this is definitely a winner. Heck, you might want to just get these for yourself – the lantern is definitely a unique piece you’ll want to keep around the house.

This Cafe Created A Diner-Themed Dessert Menu, And Our Eyes Are Confused
If you’ve ever wished you could switch out all the food on your dinner plate for something sweeter (basically, dessert for dinner), there’s a cafe in Singapore where you can do just that; that is, seem like you’re having a sensible meal, but in fact be enjoying dessert.
Nestled in Lorong Kilat, this place serves up typical diner-style food – except, the foods here aren’t what they seem.
[caption id="attachment_29341" align="aligncenter" width="890"] Image Credit: Cake Avenue[/caption]A spot called “Cake Avenue“, its name should be the first clue that you’re not in for a regular meal of burger and fries.
Look closer and you’ll find burger buns that are actually made of cake, soup that’s made of jelly, salsa that’s made of strawberry compote… You have to see it to believe it.
A Diner-themed Dessert Menu
Cake Avenue has released a new diner-themed dessert menu, and if you’re a sweet tooth, you’ll love all 6 new menu offerings they’re plating up.
First up is the classic burger and fries combo – or rather, its dessert twin.
[caption id="attachment_29331" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Image Credit: Cake Avenue[/caption]Instead of burger buns sandwiching a beef patty, what you’re seeing here is a dark chocolate ice cream “patty” sandwiched by vanilla butter cake “burger buns”. The vibrantly coloured “mustard” is passionfruit purée, and raspberry purée serves as the “ketchup”.
For sides, you get “fries”, which comprise more vanilla cake.
[caption id="attachment_29332" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Image Credit: Cake Avenue[/caption]Dessert nachos – bad idea or totally genius? Decide for yourself!
This dish of nachos contains flatbread nachos topped with strawberry compote “salsa”, chocolate mousse “refried beans”, julienned peach “cheese” and pistachio ice cream “guacamole”.
[caption id="attachment_29333" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Image Credit: Cake Avenue[/caption]Now, this is a dish we find quite intriguing.
A simple bowl of Alphabet Soup, scoop into it and you’ll find that beneath the rose jelly “tomato broth” is a lychee mousse with lychee and raspberry. If you’re wondering if the “alphabets” are actually alphabet pasta, think again – the people at Cake Avenue went all out, crafting the alphabets out of sweet milk agar.
More Unicorn Food
If there’s one foodie trend that seems to be powering on, it has to be unicorn food.
[caption id="attachment_29336" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Image Credit: Cake Avenue[/caption]Pretty to look at and super Instagrammable, Cake Avenue has created a range of unicorn-themed shakes that come complete with ears and a horn!
In pastel hues of yellow, pink, and green, take your pick from mango, strawberry and matcha flavours respectively!
Raring to try these inventive creations? So are we! Unfortunately, these new desserts will only be available from 1 September onwards, so we’ll all have to wait for just a bit before we can get our hands on these adorable treats.
